So everyone was bitching and moaning about how the crawl control feature could only get the truck out of the sand going DOWNHILL.

In this video, they bury the wheels in sand and drive it out UPHILL.

One can never have too many light bars.
These videos are cool and all but if Toyota is advertising it they for sure know it will perform well in this environment. I want to see some of the automotive review websites or magazines take them out on the trail to find its limits and test the crawl control in a real world setting.

Meh, it's alright...didn't make me cum in my pants or anything, didn't really "bury the wheels" & Toyota doesn't have much room to talk seeing how trailing with 2nd gens I kinda got used to stopping along the trail to retrieve the fender flairs that would mysteriously fall off the truck & I imagine the 3rd gens are attached the same way...

Is that what crawl control does, stop and go every foot (rock crawl demo)? looks annoying.

until I see mud, not convinced.

also am I the only one who thinks taking your time and learning how to move across rocks and such is part of the fun of off roading?

I looked at mine yesterday. They appear to be plastic push-in clips holding the flares on.

Or they could just post a video of it actually buried going up an actual hill, not a slight incline. I'm guessing most people who don't think it's the most awesomest thing ever are people who have been worse situations and had no problem getting out.

Well if they DID improve on that dumbass design, that's a plus , but just read pst from member saying it looks like the same weak ass compression pins used on 2nd gens, ya know when guys started losing their flairs & needed to buy more pins, only option was go to Toyota dealership & plunk down $5.35 (per pin !!)....fuck that...

You're not alone. I personally think crawl control does not improve the capability of the truck, just improves the confidence level of the person who can't wheel. I don't like electronic intrusioneering getting in the way of things, especially rpm limiters.

Incline up or incline down isn't the point. It's getting the wheels to rise out of the sand that matters. After that it's just traction.
