Yeah I went to check my chicken houses and I usually leave engine running. Lately we been getting a lot of rain and I got a rock stuck behind my rim today but luckily I got it out and nothing was harm. Thanks guy for answering and I seen other thread on this after I post this new tread.

But why is the battery charge light on? This comes on after like five minutes of running the radio.... Shouldn't the alternator charge the battery while I'm driving? I'm lost :notsure:

its just warning you it isn't charging. If you left it too long its going to die.

In any other car if you turn the ignition to the on position but don't start it you get a battery light do you not?
Does it go away after a while or no? Any car I've ever been in it doesn't go away.

This again. Seriously. It's normal, its like turning the ignition to the on position and all the dash lights come on without cranking the truck. 3rd gen owners...

No we are good as far as when the engine is running. I wasn't particularly worried about it till I saw the thread. Kinda like hypochondria ya know?

This was brought up in this same section before and address'd, imagine using the search tool or how about the owner's manual, common mechanical/electrical know how would realize why the fancy computer screen says that. Its like me coming on here and saying "I turned my ignition to the on position and all the lights went off, help!" Common on. If you ask a question like this be prepared to receive these type of answers especially on a forum with mechanics/truck guys. This is the norm around here, same as if I asked this question in the 2nd gen section. Dont get your panties in a twist.

Firstly, I didn't start the thread so no reason to search for it. I saw the thread and was curious about it. Obviously not enough to start a thread about it, nor to search for it. Secondly, who uses a manual when there's far more information available on the Internet?
Thirdly, for a smart assed know it all, you sure don't know how to proofread.

All I'm saying is.... Quit being a crybaby, if you don't care about the info on the thread you can very easily not click on it. Or better yet don't reply. Who woulda thunk it? You can actually read something and then.... Just keep your mouth shut. Or in this case your keyboard warrior fingers from clicking.

well I dunno about anyone else on this thread but I always do, you can find accurate info from the manufacturer, not just asking forum mechanics lol.

dont get me wrong it can be useful asking online but you should always read the manual.
My shop instructor in trade school always used to yell at us saying 'You might not believe it but reading is actually good for you. Then you do the projects right the first time' because no one would read it and just look at the picture or copy the drawing if someone else and then wire it up, not realizing you have to do it in stages.

    READ its good for you.
