I was excited to see the bells and whistles from the 4Runner finally making it over to the Tacoma. And then I went onto the Toyota Canada website and found, once again, that we're getting screwed when it comes to the Off Road package. Want a TRD Off Road in Canada? Better like the access cab.

That's right. While you in the US are given damn near every cab and box combination known to man, we only have one choice. Apparently, Canadians don't want to off road their double cabs. I sent my concerns into Toyota Canada.

Their reply: We would like to explain that market trends are closely studied to give us a better idea of what vehicles are in demand. Then based on our findings, our Product Planning department is able to choose those vehicles that best suit the needs of the buying public. We recognize, of course, that these choices may not meet the needs and fulfill the desires of all potential customers.

Which market trend? How do you study a trend for something that has never existed?

In other words: here's what we think you want. Don't argue. Just take it up the ass.

That sucks. I'd cry and buy a Ford or Chevy and wave it to Toyota.

Im a Toyota fan but sometimes their marketing team sucks a$$. Maybe their marketing team is in Japan instead of having Americans market the North American region. Who knows.

I think this has been brought up in multple threads already

But hey we get a lot more standard that the 'Muricas need to pay for.
I know its bollocks that we dont get it here as that was what I was really interested in originally, but now meh, fuck it. Don't much care for crawl control. Don't care much for the locker they have. Rather just put air lockers in.

but really come on dude, how long have you been in Canada? Don't you know we get fucked on everything here and get nothing compared to the US

One can never have too many light bars.
Is it possible to make a trip to the states to buy one? I have no idea what the laws are for such a move but i'm sure it would require at least a few headaches.

It will cost you probably close to 20k more. lol Not worth it.

I looked into it at one point to buy a diesel truck down their. The fees and taxes you need to pay to bring it up here and also to have it meet our road safety and DOT standards its not worth it.
And supposedly dealers close to the border down in the states have been told not to sell to canadian residents

I didn't see it posted, so I apologize for being redundant. More venting my spleen than anything. I know that the systems might be gimmicky or that the stock locker isn't as strong as an ARB, but ffs, at least let me have the choice.

When I tried to buy what I wanted a couple years ago, from a US dealer, they wouldn't give me the time of day because they risk losing their franchise by selling to a Canadian. Or so they told me.

That ain't Harper's fault. The US economy is far stronger. If you think we're better off under Trudon't, think again. Get ready to pay off debt well into your kid's lifetime.

But this thread isn't about politics. It's about being pissed off by rhetoric.

Really? You couldn't buy a second gen DCSB offroad in canada? I never looked into it when buying mine cause I was dead set on the long box. I've definitely seen lots of 2nd gen DCSB offroads driving around in Vancouver though.
