I didn't do mine myself...I took it to a tint shop and let them do it.

Heat is used to shape the film...just gets shaped to a slightly higher degree than regular window tint usually does.

Precut paint protection film will do the job... Since it's a small piece....should be very doable for the average person. I did a whole BRZ hood myself...supposed to be a 2 person job...didn't turn out well because the precut was the wrong size and screwed me a bit...but I had a shop do the whole front clip...included the headlights... PPF will protect the headlights from chips and should stop the oxidation... you may get some around the edge where the film doesn't cover, but I was happy with what PPF does versus applying 303 or other various products. You still have to maintain PPF, but if it gets so damaged...just remove and stick on another new piece.

I use the lamin-x on my vehicle.

used a sealant on the lenses. When it dried, I installed the precut Lamin-x. I then waxed the Lamin-x. This has held up perfectly on my lenses for nine months. Prior to that the lenses looked awful after only 6 months. They look perfect now.
