Ya so I got my icons used to begin with form some on on here and I think he had them for about 3years before I got them. Then the salt air and roads did help for 3 years in Kodiak. The coating on the coils has all pretty much come off leaving the springs rusted out. If it was only bits and pieces of the coating that had come off I would prob just spray paint them but it's pretty much the whole thing on both COs. As for the uniballs the constant grit on the roads during the 5 months of winter worked its was in there and wore them down, along with the grease and grit from a blown cv. So long story short is they prob have at least 6years of abuse of driving and weather on them so they just need a rebuild.

Towing this on hundreds of miles of un paved roads in Canada didn't help either

That makes sense, I didn't know you were up there for a while and that'll definitely wear them out quick!

How about your truck frame though, any noticeable rust happening?

I have a little but of surface rust but not to bad. My second year there I cleaned most of the frame up and put a coat of paint on it. There is still some here and there but nothing to be worried about

Watching the news this morning and saw a murder scene at the World Foods Supermarket on El Cajon Blvd. There was a white access cab the had black wheels, lift, tint, 2012-up behind all the crime tape. Looked like the truck would be from someone on here.....hope not.

I don't go to the desert enough anymore to justify the cage and I didn't want to cut it out because that is a huge waste of money. I go to the mountains a lot more now so I'm going to be building something with probably a mid travel kit and some trail armor

Sounds like you need an older yota pick up with a solid axle!

but then I don't get a backup camera :cookiemonster: but for real, I still needed a decent daily driver so I went with newer than older. Older one would be for some real mountain trails. It'll be perfect for our cabin. We're building up by palomar mountain and there are so many trails

    Facepalm.

So what's wrong with your current truck that it can't already take care of what you already want it to do plus some?

I think you've got your priorities ass backwards.

But he could do an SAS and still have all the quality comforts. That's all I was trying to say.

already said, I don't want the cage anymore. Sure I can cut it out, then I just wasted the money spent putting the cage in. Someone else will appreciate the truck as a whole. I've had it 7 years. I want something new.
