I keep mine in the center console also. I just attached a holster to the side. Quick access and secure. (this is in my Ram - new to the forum and still trying to find the right deal on a Tacoma)

Oooh a revived thread. Read the OP's post AND the responses. He didn't design it for a self defense purpose at all. It's meant to be a place to hide it for a short period of time, if the person can't carry the firearm inside to a place they are going.

It's nice to have a real safe, but especially if this was combined with the center console lock mod, the chances of someone tossing the whole truck and finding it are probably close to nil, when talking about a scenario where there wouldn't be much time to search, but rather a smash and grab.

Thread was "too long, didn't read".

I was on my phone when I responded.

In the great state of California I could do serious time for just carrying a tool to protect myself or my family. So sad, sick, and depressing. Not to mention the great 10rnd cap. :(

I like it and very nice job BUT.... how can you reach it quickly if you needed it as I now see a few others mentioned as well? I purchased the accessory net, that's what goes in those slots. I put my piece in the net for easy access in case it's needed. Having been in a situation once where I would have grabbed it if I had it, I'm afraid that wouldn't have worked for me.

I prefer to carry at all times BUT this idea helps folks like me if have to in bank or school or any govt buildings, I need a safe easy to reach place to park my gun in. most states laws require to carry ON the person. storage is a different game.

Great mod OP. Really cleaver way to hide your weapon, or anything else, while you're out of your vehicle. As you wrote, not intended to be a quick access solution. Only to be used for short periods of time, like when you have to go into places that require you to be self defenseless, a sitting duck, a fish in a barrel, or a potential victim.

To be able to carry a handgun around legally is beyond my mental capacity.. WISH I COULD, camping, target practice, back roads.. but just doesn't happen up here.

I don't know why anyone would ever need a gun, as the Police will always be around to protect us.

I like the mod. I keep my 38 snubnose in the little cubby next to the steering wheel. My 1911 goes in the console. Cool stuff. Great state of tn lets me open carry with a license!
