The projection of the bumper is plain nuts... the factory one is sticking out enough, now with this...

The protrusion is probably creating a space for the winch (because they are not small) while making it stronger.

They also have to make it flow and look good. It probably will look fine in person...like what happened when people finally say the 3rd Gen in person.

3rd nose is borderline acceptable. There is no way this will be.

Took out an elk with my ARB. It was with it then. Also had a plow truck roll down a hill into it. Was worth it then too. Then there was the f250 that merged into me on a round about. Worth it that time too.

I like the projection. I use the flat top to mount antennas, air chucks and water chucks. Offer better protection bore the top too.

In the Facebook post, someone mentions this as well. Here's ARB's reply:
The factory plastic bumper has been trimmed just below the ARB bumper line. To be air bag compatible, in most cases we need to utilize the factory crush can system which unfortunately, due to the current pedestrian regulations sticks out pretty far. This is the reason most newer vehicles have massive room between the factory bumper mounts and radiator systems. If the bumper was moved in closer the air bag system crush cans would need to be removed or modified which would cause the air bags to deploy earlier than designed possible causing injury to the driver/passenger.

man if I had a 1.5 deep garage that would work.

also how would all that weight that far in front the axle affect balance?

It does just fine. ARB has been building bull bars longer than anyone else and probably put more hours into engineering one than anybody else. I've been run their products for years.

yeah but adding 97 lbs (no winch) in front of the oem bumper changes the dynamics. I could understand if they replace the front bumper, but adding more length to the existing protruding bumper is gonna affect something.

metal tech and toyotec is replacing the front bumper so I don't see to big of an issue compared to arb adding to the bumper.

The protruding portion of the 2016 bumper is just a piece of plastic that sticks out about 14 inches from the metal bumper which is set back. The ARB mounts to the metal portion of the bumper and frame. The "lip" as some people call it would be removed.
