I say we do an experiment, swap Richt and Saban for a year and see if we win a championship while Bama falls to mediocrity. I'll bet you $1 it works.

Yeah even 11 is brutal enough. If I had to deal with games starting before 10 I would end up in the hospital.

Yeah, I didn't get that one. Sorry.

Saban would have torn up the SEC East at UGA, though. You're right about that.

Saban will tear up any division of any conference. I thought that was a given with how he has owned the best division, in the best conference in the nation.

i would try and tell u to proceed with caution about building saban up like that, but the last two years we have started the season with no QB and done extremely well considering that fact. to the point of our questionable starter last year breakin almost every school record (with alot of help from cooper). and as horible as jake looked when he played last year, he is better than i think anyone really expected and even shows some good leadership and decision making at times. saban is a great coach and surround himself with great people.

I'm not building him up. That is his reputation and body of work.

At LSU. Owned the West division of the SEC.
    At Alabama. Same story.

He has created a snow balling legacy. Many of his understudies go on to do great things. He continues to build his team of coaches, who are effective with players. Thus, resulting in success in the SEC.

Is there something that makes you think he couldn't do the same in the MAC, PAC12, or Big12? Hell at this point in time, he could probably be very successful in 2-4 years in the Big 10.

no and thats my point like on our down/rebuild years he has managed to do way more than expected and obviously is very impressionable on his fellow coordinators as most of them are at least greatly improved from what he has done. i was actually giving him more credit from how he has played his hand the last 2 years with less than stellar cards. i think you can see where, at times, he may not make the best choice (2010 loss to SC and the kick 6 lack of people who knew how to tackle on the field i guess) but overall its hard to say he even has a close 2nd for current coaches. (que coffee in 3.2.1...)

I've been saying for years we have the players (most years) that if we switched coaches with a few different names we'd be on top. Richt is a great recruiter, just can't seem to develope them.

I think it would take about a year or 2 for Saban to repair the damage Richt has done, but he could do it. I find it hard to believe at times that LSU and GA aren't repping E and W more often....they have their fertile recruiting grounds basically to themselves. But then there's Saban who comes in and takes as he pleases, develops the talent, and uses it well.

If I were the GA AD i'd go after someone that recruits very well...because at the end of the day, it's mostly about the guys on the field, not the guy on the sideline. You can only coach so much, but you need talent. Can't coach talent. Richt brings in some quality talent, but also brings in a lot of crap. His ability to assess recruits' potential is poor, and his ability to develop players is even worse. He also makes shitty decisions in games and can't win the big ones. As long as he's around GA yall are screwed.

UGA is in a position to win the rest of its games. If they then win their bowl, they'd be a 10-win team. I realize Richt hasn't brought any NCs and no SECCs for a while, but there are a LOT of schools that would kill for the consistency he's bestowed upon the school.

Ask Nebraska what it's like to fire a consistent winner like that. They did it twice.

With all the talent on that team....I think the change would be damn near instantaneous. All he would have to change is the mindset, and that can happen during spring workouts.

What a load of shite. Assess potential? Good grief that is about the most asinine statement there is. Take Ramsey, for example - high 4* and wanted by all the schools. Or Theus who was a 5*. Both of them are shite, but you can't make the judgement that they are going to be great at the next level just because they were in high school. In some instances one can, but then again, everyone said that Marshal was higher rated and better than Chubb, eh? Can't tell what a player will do at the next level until he gets there.

I think Kentucky makes it close, and we might even lose to lolburn. And maybe GT.

The excuse is always "you're a 9-10 win team every year, why get rid of that." Because it takes more than 9 or 10 wins to be relevant in modern college football. If you're not playing in the playoffs, those other 9-10 wins didn't matter.
