i went the whole trail without touching my sliders, but doesn't mean it can't happen if you don't pay attention. i would worry more about skids

Just a bunch of old crap
I ran it 2 years ago with this group, and I didn't even come close to using my sliders. Seriously. And I have just shy of a 3" lift and I was heavily loaded with bed rack, RTT, 10 gallons of water, cooler full of food, etc. Bumpers? I did bump my back plate bumper once, but front never touched. Stock bumpers can make it, just with picking good lines. I took stupid lines on purpose because we were going so slow and I needed to entertain myself, and I still had a hard time hitting the rear bumper.

I still wouldn't chance it. Keep in mind that we didn't prerun the trail this time so I have no idea what condition Rug Road is in. Sorry to be a buzzkill, but the "NO EXCEPTIONS" is on the trip post for a reason.

I hope it's a rutted out, washed out, rocky freagin mess! But I'd be content with an easy going trail, too.

This is an "at your own risk" 4x4 trip, but Trailmaster JeepAndrew makes a good point!

I did this trip this past Spring and came off a "step" that my high clearance rear bumper slapped down on so hard I had to stop and get out to look and see if I broke something. No damage at all was done. I have 3 piece skids, welded sliders, and plate bumpers on both ends. Picking the right line is key as is go SLOW, but after several hours it is easy to get a little lazy. This all makes that first cold beer late Friday afternoon taste so good!
