    Only other possibility I can think of is benching him for now will give him a break and time to clear his head. Gabbert will suck and calls will come out to put Kap back in. Maybe he will perform better after a little break? Hard for him to be much worse.

    They don't seem to be thinking things through. But I could see it being worth a shot to try and get a better performance from him by the end of the year and see if another team is interested in a trade in the off season.

    Latest from a Sacramento area sportswriter (who is right most of the time) is that Kaep is done in SF. Benching is likely an indication that they will not utilize the option. Too much money is the reason.
