does anyone know if the lifetime warranty for power train is good coverage. An eBay seller has a black 2016 and is offering it and I was wondering how good the coverage is. Tia

I've read that the lifetime warranty - the one provided by Toyota - requires ALL work to be done by a Toyota dealer. If you are DIY inclined, you may want to consider this first.

Would be curious to know why someone is already dumping a 2016. Could be a financial issue. I would be concerned about some of the oil loss issues I've been reading about - 2016 Tacoma.

There is no lifetime warranty offered by Toyota. The lifetime warranties are offered by third parties and do require all work to be done at the dealership on time. If you miss your oil change by 200 miles or miss your transmission flush etc. you are out of luck and lose out on the warranty. I've also heard that even if you file a claim for your vehicle it's a real pain getting them to pay up. From what I've read it's just a sales tactic to give the consumer peace of mind.

I get one with my truck but I'm sure it'll be voided once I add a lift and tires

Yep. I'll bet you can kiss that warranty good-bye.

Yeah it is what it is. I've owned so many Toyota's with so many miles and haven't had any issues. If I was a Chrysler or Ford guy you better believe I'd do everything it took to keep that lifetime powertrain warranty ;)
