friend got a camburg kit installed this past weekend. Blew my phone up this morning with pics.

I now have one less friend...

 

Yea I'll stick with my camper shell for now and set up a tent. My money is going mostly towards suspension at this point. Maybe down the road I can grab a flippac

i just priced the front kit with new kings.....Thats a pipe dream. $4,700

 

just do it slowly. Buy the kit. Then axles. Then shocks. Then secondary mounts. Then bypasses. Install. Enjoy. If you space it out, like i did, it doesnt hurt the pocketbook as much. Ive been saving and buying parts up for the better part of two years now, and I'm still a good 6-8 months out from getting the truck built. I know it'll be worth it in the end, so I have the patience to not just install what i have and regret it. I wanna install everything at once so I'm not killing the truck because i'm missing a part I couldnt wait for.

 

They went way up in price. I got mine for $4,300 (before taxes) from FRP in Riverside. $4,700 OTD, and I could easily sell it for $5K since no one wants to wait 4 - 5 months like I did. Those FWC's are nice. I had one on my Scout.

I may be selling it down the road. Planning on something like this in the next few years.

Yeah I want one like that Landcruiser but no one makes anything like that in the states.

Do you have that FWC on the taco? I also wanted to do a Flip pack and I found on in Oregon that was new, $8K spec'ed out for $5K, but the guy never got back to me.

The other things I've read about FP's is the torsion bars break and getting parts can be an ordeal. If I could weld aluminum I'd make my own camper.

Never had the FWC on the Tacoma. It was designed for a K5 Blazer and I adapted it to the Scout. It didn't have a floor or back and wouldn't clear the cab of the Tacoma.

I plan on having the frame fabricated and doing the rest myself. Just need to find someone to do it. Also going back and forth on making it pass- through or flatbed. I think it could be build for around $7K, but that doesn't account for the hundreds of hours that I would put into the build.

 

I've been thinking the same thing, flat bed or not. Both have their advantages. If you find someone to make you a frame, let me know. I may want to go the same route. I can do everything, but I need to research on how to skin the whole thing correctly so it doesn't look like crap.

Well noticed my first damage to the Tundra since owning it (besides some pin striping). Put a baseball sized dent in the rear bumper while wheeling the other weekend. Oh well, bound to happen, hopefully my wife doesn't see it anytime soon though haha.

 

anyone recommend a brand named stubby antenna? something that's going be decent if I decide to listen to the radio LOL

 

I have one, reception is pretty crappy.

 

AHH what's what I was worried about. From what i've read I am guessing they all are the same? I was hoping maybe there was a model made would be decent.
