I recently purchased a new 2015 4 door PreRunner. I specifically chose to go with the 2wd, as I know myself all too well. My last rig was a 95 Land Rover Discovery that I put on a 1" body lift, 2" OME lift, airlockers, ARB bullbar, winch etc. Every outting was $1,000. I tackled till I broke.

This ride will be a family hauling pavement pounder for the most part, with an occasional trip down a mud road taking Boy Scouts on a trip.

All of this being said, I'd like to lift my Taco about 3" + slightly taller tires. Given that I'm not concerned with articulation, boulder clearance, etc, what is the best route to go. I want to keep a comfortable ride / handling.

    Thank you for your info.

I'm in the same boat. Got a '13 dcsb pre for family adventures. 5100s all around OME coils, 2" AAL. 265/75r16 tires. Next are new UCAs for the front. I'm sitting at 3" up front and 2" in the back.

Go suspension! Better ride and handling, and you won't have to have someone move your rear bumper up and re attach it because it's not attached to the body.
