I ordered a 16 DCLB Grey 4x4 TRD Sport that will be here in 10 days or so. The salesman gave me the MSRP of $36,200. He obviously can not give me the trade in value of my 05 Prerunner SR5 until the the new truck arrives.
I have been reading the up on what everyone is paying according to MSRP etc on here. I am gonna offer $1000.00 under MSRP. Also, that I want $10,600 for my truck. The $10,600 is both the same on KBB and NADA trade in value for my truck. The difference will be paid in cash, no financing.
I think that would be a fair. Any feedback would be appreciated.

They have the attitude that the 16 is hotter than a four balled Tomcat, and they want MSRP.

I always know what I want to pay in difference OTD. I never ask for money off or argue about dealer fee's or this or that, it makes it much simpler.

They want as much money as they can squeeze out of you. You've already played into their hand by assuming that they won't play ball with you. Tell them what you'll really pay, make sure to get prices from no less than 5 other dealerships.

One can never have too many light bars.
Hopefully you 've discussed trade in value of your old truck. Would hate to see if they try to undervalue your trade and play with your emotions with the new truck

He can def give you a trade in value right meow. Our last two vehicles were purchased online, sight unseen, trade in and all. Drove to pick them up with nothing left to negotiate.

3" lift, goodyear wrangler duratracs 285/70r17, k&n filter, bakflip vp tonneau and tint.
They won't use kbb or nada. The will use auction reports or gal's.

    Yes, thanks been doing tha
They will not give the value of my trade in until the new truck is in. However, they said they would give the fair trade in. I am a little nervous on that.

You don't pay what they want. You will pay what you want to pay. They have a truck. You have money. Make a deal you are happy with.

MSRP does not make me happy.

If you want me to write more, ask me to. I don't want to waste my time if you won't read it.

Don't be nervous about any of it. I know that sounds a little strange, but I want to remind you that you have the power, they don't. They are working for your business, so when you walk in there remember your balls are the biggest in the room. ALWAYS be ready to walk out the door. ALWAYS.

When they say fair, they don't mean a fair deal for you. Look up KBB fair condition value, that's what they will offer you. 5 dealers I talked with basically offered that value.

Yes, I am aware that I control the deal. Just trying to figure out what is reasonable. If I don't get a fair I will walk. This amount of cash will pay off my house. Maybe, do that and let the dust settle a bit.

When you say you already ordered one, does that mean you put a deposit down?

Email their web manager and get invoice or close to it. Get a hunk of dough on your trade in. Don't fold on the trade in, make sure you are getting/making money there, because the dealer will certainly make money when they turn around and sell your trade-in based on Tacomas' exceptional resale value.
