I see you being able to trade your truck for something you want fairly easily. You can probably trade your truck for a stock 2nd gen plus cash. Should be enough money to jump start your expedition rig build. Beautifully built truck by the way. Very clean and subtle.

Haven't posted anything on here in a long time, but traded in my '09 2WD for a stock '11 4X4 and wanted to share my first trail I put her on and to say hi to you guys
Went on Sunday. I don't know where this place is called, my buddy called it Planet of the Moon.
It was the exit where you get off for the desert lookout tower in Jacumba but instead of turning to the tower its the opposite way.
Pardon for not knowing. I followed my friends jeep up to these caves at the top. My truck is stock 4X4 and at times regretting trying some of the lines that the jeep did, but I didn't get stuck nor true damage, scraped the Dick out of my stock skids and some rock bash on the rims but whatever. The fancy buttons did their job on the trail, tire slippage-locked the rear.
There was some pretty serious parts to that trail, my friend with the jeep was impressed, so was I for a stock truck

Valley of the Moon! Or Elliot Mine/smuggler's cave in the wheeling books. Love that place! Did you drive or hike all the way up to the top where the mines are?

We drove to the top where the mines were at, right near the top was the hardest part of the trail20151101_120145.jpg this was the end of the trail at the caves, you can still see my embarrassing dealer sticker on the windshield

Certain times of the year the trailhead is closed for big horn sheep breeding season. I dig it though.

Its a sweet view and excellent 4X4 trail! Doesn't take long to get to the top and if my truck did it then yours would be a breeze, the caves are pretty cool too they open up to some big rooms.

Right on, man! That's definitely the most difficult part. Possibly not physically, but mentally that obstacle is sketchy as hell! Good on ya for getting up there completely stock!

Be careful in those caves, though, as they're actually collapsed mine shafts. Never know what might shift around unexpectedly...

@BBtacosurfer let me know when you want to head out there! I'd be down to show you around some weekend. I've done it as a day trip but I much prefer camping out and taking my time. There's also the Table Mountain area across I-8 that I've been meaning to explore.

Did you hike up to those palms? Some impressive rock formations up there if you're up for the scramble since there's no trail.

They were referred by Discount Tire, seemed to get good reviews on Yelp, provided a printout of the before and after numbers... all was okay with me. I did this right after Jason installed the Bilstein 5100s on the front, with the height raised one notch (0.85").

Once I get the new wheel bearing/hub installed, I will need a desert outing to see how these new 4 Bilstein 5100's do!
