That reason, yes, but more importantly they pop more easily offroad. (Been there, done that.) And these are "P" rated tires; I need "E"s for carrying a camper shell.

Great looking truck! Where did you buy from, and how was it?

Edit: and, what kind of shell are you planning on?

They are about an inch taller than the stock 265/70/16s, I think. But I decided not to go with what I originally wanted; 285s (33"). I have those on my FJ Cruiser, but with the Taco I am trying to keep it closer to stock. BTW, I have noticed no extra noise at all with the BFG KO2s, and the handling seems just the same.

Larry H. Miller Toyota Murray. Took three weeks to get it from order date. Paid close to MSRP, unfortunately. Worked them up quite well on the trade-in price for my 2007 FJ Cruiser, then changed my mind and decided to keep the FJ after all. So . . . I am an example of how not to do it. But it's only $$$, and I am happy with the vehicle. ;) BTW, I noticed in this month's Kiplinger's magazine that they rated the 2016 Taco as having the greatest potential resale value of any vehicle.

Shell is going to be a Four Wheel Campers pop-up "Eagle" shell: bare shell with only a propane stove and side dinette. (Weight on that is ~750 lbs.) It's on order, will have it after Thanksgiving. Want to stay under GVWR, and the fully-equipped popups are pushing that.

You are right. I misspoke. They are 265/75/16s, not 70.

I want the z series A R E,but they are still working on a trim issue,I talked to the dealer yesterday and they should have it resolved in a couple of weeks. The quote was about $2600 for it.The v series is available, but the last one I had leaked a lot of dust in the tailgate are on my Ram truck.I'm hoping the seals on the z series solve this, but its an $800 gamble.
