Got the gas mileage down to 13mpg! Modification complete
Put a shipping container or two under that. You would have tons of extra storage too!

    Project ~ Ongoing Ensuite completion

Our marble tiles have all arrived for our ensuite bath and of course the stone we both liked for the floor and baseboard detail does not have an available matching pencil trim so I stepped outside of my normal comfort zone , purchased a used wet saw from a retired contractor I know and set out to cut 100' of 1/2" x 7/8" x 24" marble myself to make matching pencils

Tried a few test cuts on another piece of marble we had left over from our samples .

I spend a fair bit of time aligning the saw and building a plywood jig to extend the wet saw table to support the narrow pieces while cutting and to keep them cutting parallel .

I was successful with the test pieces to polish the cut sides back to the high honed finish of the marble and ease the edges with an approx 1/8" round over on the top and bottom edges with a 400 grit , stone polishing wet pad on my grinder .

Test run complete , today I spent half the day cutting 110' of pencil , tomorrow I'll do the edges

I am curious to know who here have shop-vacs in their garage and how they store them. I picked one up off of CL for a good deal, but I can't figure out where to store it. It sits in the corner and is sometimes and eye sore, anyways just looking for some ideas.

    Thanks

Mine just occupies the corner , it's too big to really store away on a shelf

So today I made a jig to hold the marble trim pieces snugly so that I wouldn't have to worry about them getting thrown by the grinder or chattering and fracturing while I wet polished them plus it let me operate the hose and grinder at the same time

Fits in there nice and snug

I got 50' done . Cut edge re-polished to high honed and the two exposed edges chamfered

Only one failure out of that bunch

Tough to see but this is the finished product

I'll finish up the other 50' tomorrow
