as stated, send it back to who rebuilt it for you and explain what you did and that its not turning.

now you know, NEVER accept an engine from a rebuild without turning it over by hand to be sure its free and it works.

since they did it all and set the timing chain it will be obvious you never ran the engine so they should have no problem warrantying their work and see what they did wrong. you could try calling them and ask if they want you to remove the water pump and timing chain cover, they may say you can leave them on and they might even want to come see it before you go to the trouble of pulling it out.

Sorry if this has been asked already, I know it is not recommended but have you tried turning it backwards at all? Even just an inch or so? Wondering if for some random reason they left a service bolt in the exhaust cam and it could be hitting the block if it's long enough. If it'll turn backwards that may be it, but I'd think you would have snapped it off with a breaker bar. But as I said, barely turn it if you try it. I don't think anything will happen honestly, but better safe than sorry. I've turned mine backwards about 2 inches because I forgot the service bolt was in there when I was finding TDC to take the cam off, no problems afterwards.

That's a good thought and also the reason you should always use a valve cover bolt to lock the cam to avoid leaving it in there. That way if you're missing a bolt your know why before any damage is done. I would advise just shooting a couple drops of oil into each cylinder to loosen the rings from the bore if it has been sitting for a while.

Can you pop the valve cover, and see if there is a cam-lock bolt in place. Wouldn't it be visible?

I guess I am pulling engine out and machine shop will go from there! I removed pressure plate, fly wheel and clutch and still won't turn! Engine was in right didn't have a scratch on new pressure plate

I would be soooo pissed off. I guess now you know to spin the motor over by hand before stabbing it back in there! Live and learn.

Sorry about that OP. That engine looks sexy though. I'm interested in what the shop says.

Ok sorry for the wait, I don't have much of a schedule! But it was me, I took Trans out to make sure I didn't screw something up when I installed engine and before I took engine out again. When I installed crank pulley I did not know I had to turn till it again till I lined it up with oil pump. So when I torqued it down it pulled crank forward and chain slipped off vibration damper witch wouldn't alow it to turn. Waiting on woodruff key from dealer and should be able to try again.
