I have looked at photos with stock size tire an 17" wheel an look good an I'll be happy with that. But would like to run 275/70/17 if possible

I think you'll be fine with 275/70R17s. I ran a 3" lift and 285/70/17s, with only very minor rub while backing up onto my driveway and turning the wheel... I never trimmed anything either. However, My wheels have 4 5/8 backspacing. That makes a difference too.

I run 275/70/17 on stock wheels , not sure how your backspacing and wheel width might effect the scrub radius of the tire though

-12mm offset, and 4.53inch backspace.. It's technically 4 1/2, but the rim manufacturer calls it 4 5/8 backspace.. not sure why.. And it's a 9" wide rim that I have.

    backspace_offset.jpg

The offset won't really matter if the backspacing isn't correct. The backspacing measures from the wheel hub mount to the back side of the rim. This is critical, so you don't rub against your spindle, calipers, and other drive components.

You can have the same negative offset, but a wider rim and still rub. So that's why the backspacing is the first thing you should look at when choosing a rim.

Then, the offset comes into play. The bigger the negative offset, the further out the rim will stick out past your fender walls, assuming the backspacing remains constant.

And that's when you need to consider wheel bearing wear and tear. Hope this helps.
