Yup. I live in a small community area of Alberta and the newest McDonalds in a town of 6000 is demoing machines in anticipation of the higher minimum wage coming.

It's funny to me, you vote for Democrat because they promise you pay raise and instead sorry you're no longer needed!! When will they learn.

I had my 98 first gen. Tacoma off road 10 years. I owned from brand new had 173000 miles. Did not burn any oil and nothing ever done to engine and transmission. I would have kept the truck but because of the frame issue. Toyota bought it back and gave me a couple of dollars shy of 15,000. No brained gave it back and bought a brand new 2008 Tacoma.

As a customer, I think that would be a better option. My orders would be taken correctly, quickly and without any stupid attitude.

I hope my Tacoma lasts that long. Just finishing up year #3 and should break 70K miles this week. It's starting to make a weird noise that I can't track down and its worrying me a bit. Today i ran into another regular cab owner and he has the exact same noise, so maybe its common and nothing to worry about...

Let's be honest. It's not just the democrats. Most of the republicans are progressives too.

Yes everyone desires a fair shot in life. I will agree with that. But McDonalds workers making $15/hr get real.

Here's my question, if the government raises minimum wage will the rest of the working world get a 7 dollars raise? I don't think so.

I'm not agreeing with the 15 dollar minimum wage. I was only pointing out that lack of quality leadership runs in both parties.

We have a better chance winning the lotto! You think if Rubio doesn't get the bid he's going to run for Governor of FL?

I doubt it. He can do more as a Senator. I see him as a possible VP pick this round. He's a good man IMO.

I know there have been calls for him to do so, as a POTUS candidate. I did not hear he had made that decision.

Right, but the flip side of the same point is that the same characteristics that lead to a higher retained value means that there is less motivation to replace it frequently, because what happens... you have a Tacoma, you go to the dealer to trade it in on a new one, and you end up with... a Tacoma. The utility doesn't increase just because it has a different number stamped on the ownership. Frankly, I've always found that new things tend to be less reliable than properly maintained older things. New cars are very prone to problems until you work through them. For that reason, I tend to resist buying new vehicles any more often than very infrequently.

That's fair, and that's your decision. I disagree that new things tend to be less reliable, and I also disagree that all new cars are very prone to problems. I have a 2015 that I just bought in July. I maintain my vehicles very well, and the 2nd Gen Taco ran for ten years virtually unchanged, so I have a brand new vehicle that's going to go a long time before any issues at all.

I would agree that brand new models - i.e. the 2016 Taco - have to work their kinks out.

Bottom line - as long as it makes financial sense, which I think it does with a Taco - is that I'd much rather buy something new and know that it is well taken care of, as opposed to buying a mystery used truck where I don't know if it was driven by a 16 year old doing tranny drops and wheeling it hard.

    I think we're off topic. :)

Pretty sure I will fall into that category. I plan on driving mine til the wheels fall off.
