Hey everyone. I am waiting for my MGM TRD Sport DCSB to be delivered next week and just wanted to say hey and that this forum has been a great source of information so far.

I drove a 2003 TRD Prerunner through high school and college and ended up selling it and buying a 2012 VW GTI when I got a job that required driving 100 miles a day round trip. But now after a couple of years with the VW, the car fix is over with for me. I am super stoked to get the new Taco and have it for many years to come.

I was hoping that you guys could help me out with some advice on what to check and look for on the truck before I sign anything and drive it off the lot next week. I'm good with all of the big stuff and options that will be coming with the truck. But if you guys have any advice on some smaller things that one might miss it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks guys!

It is a brand new truck so not a whole lot to check for. If you had a TRD OR coming I would say check the tires. I had a bad one replaced yesterday and I know others have had the same issue but you have different tires.

Welcome to TW. One thing I always notice at the dealership is they never take off ALL the stickers. there are stickers everywhere too, rims, tires, sideview mirror, rear view mirror, dome light, door lights. And if they stay on there too long sometimes they can leave residue behind. So make sure there aren't any stickers left over. Also check the quality of the mirror on the sideview mirror. Sometimes when the detail shop take the stickers off the mirror, they can scratch the plastic. Also check the tire pressure. I believe the 3rd gen can do that from between the tacho and speedo. Sometimes the mechanics don't level out the tire pressure equally and if its nitrogen tires, thats another trip back to the dealership. My 2 cents from working at a Toyota dealership

My dealership left a black thick piece of plastic on the top left of the windshield (drivers side). From what I can tell, it may be some type of RFID used during production and port delivery. I need to try to take that off soon.

Can't take one now but did find one online that looks identical (from a different vehicle though). Best I can see, it is blank on both sides.

I haven't noticed it on any other members pictures so I'm assuming it's something that should have been removed.

The only thing I found on mine was one of the coat hangers in the back wasn't snapped into place. A little push up into the headliner and the issue was resolved.

I also had to remove a couple stickers but expected that.

My tires came with too much air in them. The on board check showed them at 33 when cold and recommended is 29. I know you can run slightly higher if you want better fuel economy but I went and dropped them to 30 all around (with a real gauge) since winter is coming and they tend to be lower in the cold anyhow

Same here, I told them, no front plate bracket (don't want unnecessary holes), no pinstripe (they charge $600 for that ish), and no dealership sticker. Basically told them to take off the factory stickers and vacuum the inside, thats it

I told them the same for the tag bracket. Idiot tech was new and didnt read the notes for the delivery and still put it on. I took it off but now have two stupid holes. Thankfully they arent too noticeable on the MGM

That's what I'm terrified of, I order 040 so two holes are going to be extremely noticeable
