Started with a thread today about leveling kits. Then was informed for the same amount of money I could get 5100s. just wondering how much difference in height there is between could spacers and 5100s was just going to put 5100s on front and leave the back alone has anyone else done this? With pics.

5100's have three perch locations and can be raised up to 2.5" I believe.

I have mine paired with toytech springs, great ride on and off road.

How high can it actually raise the front end though? Will it be noticeable?

@Rock Lobster is correct, you can go anywhere from 0 (stock height) to 2.5~2.75. The majority of individuals who set the shocks at 2.5~2.75 usually purchase UCA's for alignment reasons. Some individuals; however, have gotten away with stock UCA's, but every truck is different. If I were you, I would purchase coils to achieve a lift greater than 1.5 inches. The ride quality becomes stiff as you increase the amount of preload on the shocks, so be aware. Coils can be on the pricey side, but OME and Eibache produce quality coils for a reasonable price. Good luck! :)

That's the problem I don't want to spend alot of money I'm on about a 200-250 budget and a set of 2 5100s are about 190 and I heard ride quality is about 4 times better than coil spacers what else would I need if I bought just front 5100s?

Just don't max out the shocks to the highest setting and you'll be good to go. The .85 (first notch) levels out the truck. The 1.75 (second notch) noticeably "lifts" the truck. You can measure from the center of the hub to the fender and apply the desired setting. That would give you a good idea on how it would look. Most people with the standard pre-tsb (Only 3 leafs in the pack) set the shocks at .85. If you have the tsb leafs, then you could set the shocks at 1.75 without sitting nose high most likely.

I know this is a some what old thread but I just want to be sure what to set the shocks at. Next week my truck is going in for the frame replacement and I figured this was a good time to have the shocks replaced with the 5100's. I have the TSB leafs on the rear and I like the way the truck currently sits, the rear is just a wee bit higher than the front. If I set the front shocks at .85 setting will this give me what I want (keep the current look)? I think it will but I would just like 1 of the experts on this forum to confirm it.
