How to solve window going up squeal sound?

When I power my windows up and they contact the rubber seals there is a hideous squeal sound.

Is it the window lift motor? The rubber seals?

I already tried lubing the rubber with some silicone and it didn't seem to help.

Anybody know?

I hate the noise mine makes and if I have to I'll source the damn noise with a stethoscope, but I'm hoping somebody knows the answer

I'm not convinced it's the seals, I think it's the motor. Gonna have to break out the stethoscope.

 

It is not the seals. When you notice the noise the window is all the way up. Try rolling it up again after it's up. The motor is making the noise. Mine comes and goes.

Yes. THIS exactly. Today it was cold and while the windows were up, I tried to make the window go up and it would not make the noise. I think on hot days it makes the noise. I'll have to monitor it more carefully.

Nice demonstration! I've lubed the seals with silicon and the noise that this thread is about did not go away. I recently replaced a window lift motor in my wifes car and the new one is awesome. The old one was toast!

 

The cold does seem to make it worse.

 

I have this going on as well just started a few months ago. it went away for awhile but its back.. is my power window motor going to fail? anyone fixed this issue or have it worsen?

 

Probably won't fail. Mines been doing it on and off for maybe a year or two?
