You're not wrong. But they're still my favorite team.

It's okay. My team has gone full Oiler, so to speak. :anonymous:

TSN won't stop ranting about how McDavid getting hurt will hurt the entire league.

BTW the replay definitely shows McDavid catching his edge rather then actually being run into the boards.

I know I'll come off as biased. But I would've been a big McDavid fan, regardless of which team he went too. He's an amazing talent. And something like that doesn't come along too often these days. I'm pretty upset that a kid that just absolutely loves hockey - and is bloody incredible at it - will likely be out for a long period. He can kiss Rookie of the Year goodbye.....along with a lot of potential growth to his game. I for one think it's pretty tragic.

And I see very little in the way of people blaming the Flayers Defenders for the injury. It was a combination of everything. Very shitty situation.

Oh, I think he has amazing potential, but to say losing a good chunk of his rookie season will hurt the entire league is a bit of a stretch. If they were that worried about him getting hurt, maybe the league shouldn't allow 18 year olds to play in the league.

It's big business, when the big names are around. Ask the PGA how it feels when Tiger isn't playing golf. Ratings down......far less interest.

To most hard core fans......yeah, this is no big deal. But it's big business for the NHL, when the big names bring in the big numbers. Whenever Crosby and Ovechkin play at other arenas, the dollars follow. Higher ticket prices.....everything. Same for McD.

A collarbone is a couple months. Will it be a big setback for him this year? Obviously. Does it mean the whole year, or his entire career is in jeopardy? Hell no.

Exactly. Plus I'm guessing 90 percent of American fans don't care if McDavid is playing on the Oilers this year. They'd rather see a competitive team over a developing superstar.

Truth. I'd much rather watch a Wild-Blues or Wild-Preds or Wild-any central team game over watching the oilers if I had to pick a game to see in person. Sure, they have/had a promising young rookie but it still doesn't make the team as a whole any more enticing to watch for me.

They are saying collarbone. What aren't they saying? Seems no one ever releases the true extent of an injury. Hopefully the ligaments and tendons are all still firmly attached. A shoulder injury seriously slowed down Kesler's career not long ago

They'll never say. One of these days they are just going to start saying "injury of some sort" to hide it from everyone. Cause targeting you know.

I don't blame the teams either. When spearing nuts and slashing appendages is not really a penalty anymore at the NHL level you have to hide injuries. If they started giving majors for anything two handed of that sort shit would calm right down and maybe then teams wouldn't have to hide injuries.

When was that? Was it called no goal? By definition that's a likely no goal call to me. Puck never clearly crossed the line. Remember the up top camera is placed slightly behind the net so that the goal line can be seen which makes it look like even more of his glove is across the line than there actually is. Unless the entire glove is clearly over the line, which it isn't from that point of view in my humble opinion, it's a no goal in most cases. You can't tell if the bobbling puck in his glove cross the line or not from that camera in that replay.
