My 4" RCD suspension with additional 1.6" Eibach lift. Pics of the CVs and LR UCA. You guys can continue hating on DB lifts but I've had both and I have no problem clearing my 34s and obstacles. Plus it rides better than stock:cheers:

I'm not hating. To each their own. I was simply stating that the last time I heard of a lift like that (6" procomp with 3" in coil spacers) the trucks CV's literally screamed. It's not a knock on your setup, which probably places the front pumpkin at stock height.

In my area it's not necessarily a good idea to wheel a DB lift, but I've seen it done. You just have to keep up on maintaining and checking it because it's one more point of failure added on to the truck.

I have the LR as well. Meh. Nothing broken yet. Followed the same procedure the OZ mentioned. Greased everything well.

I really want the Icon Billet UCA's though. I'd vote for those. ;)

Up here someone had some water pool into the channels on the Icon arms while the truck was sitting and when the water froze it cracked the arm . Probably not a common issue but it surprised me to hear that.

Plus isn't the Icon problem the same as always? Proprietary sizing and specifications?

I'd love to see this. That would be like water cracking a plastic ice cube tray as it froze but a million times more unlikely.

Oh, I know and I totally agree. The guy went outside when it was -20 c after a warm wind the night before had melted some ice into the channels and was like WTF? I'm guessing the arms had some sort of damage he couldn't see with the naked eye, they had been on for a while, and the water getting in just finished the job.

Idk what's with the LR hate .. a lot of locals run them and are happy with them. I don't have experience with either (running TC myself) just hearsay.

Oh, and another thing I've learned in my digging around, don't get Heim joints in Canada on a UCA if you can avoid it. Apparently dirt and water can get into them and freeze together at night causing some not so hilarious results.

Mine is solely based on someone elses experience, and even then I'm still on the fence about getting or not getting them.

No LR hate, lots of people run those with excellent results. I wanted a balljoint UCA, saw the nightmare that JBA uppers became for a couple of people. Then a deal on some used rebuilt camburg arms from a local TW member came along and I took it.

Yeah, I really wanted the JBA product but the lack of testing they do seems to me to be scary. If someone could get ones that clear everything and have the right adjustments for a lift I'd be all over them.

Same. I love the look and design of the JBAs, but I'm with Unchained on this one. I don't want to pay to be a beta tester.

Adjustability, and relative ease of that. Plus the Uniball. Those are my reasons. Since mine rest at such a steep angle.

Would definitely like to see a picture of that though.

Heim joint boots would help, no?

I'll see what I can do. It happened well before my time with this group when they ran under another name so I'm not sure if there are pics floating around or if it's just a legend confirmed by association at this point.
Hmm, probably. I'll ask the person that had issues with Total Choas Heims if they had boots on when the issue occurred. Looking at a heim joint it makes sense to me that ice could be an issue if it gets into the joint after a bit of wear.

Especially if not teflon coated heims.

Thanks mate. Really interested to see the remnants of the carnage.

    wow this thread blew up.

FYI most uniball UCA's have 63-70ish * of flex at the uniball with misalignment spacers..... LR ball joints have 82*, not sure what the MOOG ball joints have in the camburg arms, but if they are specd exactly the same as the stock UCA ball joint... its SIGNIFICANTLY less than even the uniball.
