Keep them low. That way your uppers, aren't in your cab. Under the frame or beside it makes no difference.

I had a set of 63" Chevy's under my 90 4runner. They worked great. With the TC front end the truck was well balanced. Funny thing, when I went to the Chevy wrecking yard and asked for a set of 63" springs the guy asked if I was putting them on a Toyota.

The chevy 63 mod is popular for sure. More on crawler types. Never seen them on a go fast truck really.

Yes, they were flat and it was the next upgrade on the truck but they worked and were bullet proof.

there is a top and a bottom to a snap ring, if you look close one side is flat and the other has a rounded edge to it. make sure you install them correctly.

nope.. its not as easy to tune as a regular bypass and you will get more adjustment out of bypass tubes than you will out of a IBP.

It's a cheap quick fix, stopped hard in traffic the other day and half of one of my leafs went flying past me. I just need something to keep me good till I can get my deavers

So why cut off your leaf hangers and re do the shackle mount only to have to do it again..

I'm still in the air on doing the deavers or building a 3 link so it'll give me more travel and a better ride until I do decide to do the final suspension change. Plus it's a cheap and easy upgrade for now.

Why is it so low?? if you shorten your bumpstop looks like you'll be pretty damn close to hitting internal bump of the shock after the bumpstop compresses. I was thinking of doing the chevy 63's on my truck... because of your build.... should I not?

I'll be doing this next week with updates, I have 18" bypasses which I believe will solve this minor problem and I'm doing air bumps. I'm going sua with it tho and a longer shackle to maintain height

Those are super bumps by wheelers and are super soft. They compress quiet a bit. I bet they are fine.

But..yea not a lot of up travel.

It's not exactly better, it's preference in my opinion. Yes it gives extra axle clearance in rocky situations and what not but I like it because it looks cleaner to me. Others I'm sure will chime in with more advantages it can give but I just feel its sturdier and looks better.

Unless you have already purchased your 18 inch bypass shocks, I recommend going with six teams. With the SUA 16 inch shock will give you all of the travel you can get out of those springs. And you don't have shocks sticking way up above your bed lol.

@Slimmjay , with a spring under configuration, you are able to get more up travel while keeping your springs from going negative. It also helps a bit with axial roll as well.
