What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

these things are an SOB to take apart. on one side the clamp thingys that hold the leafs in place are the usual ones with a bolt through... no problems, but on the other side they are pinched on, so you have to bend them open to get the pack apart. needless to say one broke, so i'll be grinding all of them off and making new ones

Put on my spare tire because of this...

Is it me or the OEM jack and tools are pure scrap? Jack doesn't fit under the LCA when the tire is all aired down, it doesn't lift enough and it's hard to align the rod on the grooved nut to take down the spare...

The only good thing about that flat is that I do have a reason to buy new rubber next spring for now I will run my set of winter tire since winter is coming...

Having a Hi Lift was on my mind when I was trying to jack the front wheel haha! If I could use that kind of jack without need to buy some sliders I would be happy haha I would love to have slider but if its only to lift the truck to change a tire it is becoming pricy

I 2nd that!!!!! Hi-lifts are such a nice simple tool relative to any other jacks i have owned. I have been racking my brain around how to weld bits here and there to make it work on a type1 4door taco. I would rather weld up big front and rear bumpers than buy $liders. I DO need to add a hang glider rack to the front and a hitch to the front, so maybe by spring i will come up with an idea that makes my the high lift usable. open to anyone's ideas.

 

Ghetto fix: carry around a jack stand and use the hi-lift tire lift to get it off the ground, set it on the jack, change tire, use the tire lift to get it back off the stand

I am not "Ghetto." I am part "Red Neck" and part "Granola." So, planned to just use a wad of climbing webbing instead of the Hi-Lift(R) tire lift thingy and then shove a big rock or some tree stumps under the truck instead of the jack stand. But yeah, your idea was all i could come up with.
