Does the '16 still have the awful ABS system that the '15 did?

It's pretty much the same truck. Does that mean the ABS system still sucks for '16?

Good question. Many of the gen 2 guys were pulling the fuse to disable. One guy said "wait till the snow falls, come ride with me, you'll shit your pants"

Yep. Both my '13 and '15 had scary ABS when you hit a bump when braking.

My 2014 FJ is the same way. There's this light I pull up to frequently and the road is like a washboard there....now I know to slow down before I even get to the washboard portion-cause theres no brakes until AFTER the washboard portion! 3 cheers for consistency.

    NO!
My 2016's ABS hasn't shown any of the bad habits the 2014 did. I hated the brakes in that truck.

The offroad has a much more sophisticated ABS system due to the crawl control and hydroboost

In one of Sweers interviews, he said that it was a new ABS system. I wonder how it translates into improvements on snow.

Can you explain your issues with the ABS?
Is it that the braking in general is slushy, or there's actually an ABS related issue?

Braking on rough pavement causes ABS to freak out and you lose braking ability momentarily. It's a known issue

In my '06 in the snow you would just keep going and going. Many times I thought I was going to something. I pulled the ABS fuse and had no more issues in the snow...

Sweers said the drum brakes were 'ok' because of the new, more sophisticated ABS system

I had to slam the brakes the other night to avoid a deer. about 50mph to dead stop on pavement. in my last truck w/no abs i would have locked up and slammed into it. the taco was amazing, didn't know it could stop that quickly. it was not a slippery wet surface though.
