Fuel Filter???

Anyone know the recommended mileage to change out the fuel filter on an 04 3.4L V-6? How about mileage for the trans flush?

 

How do you change the fuel filter?

 

On my 96 3.4L tacoma...it was really easy. It's located under the truck (not in the tank) along the fuel lines. Just unscrew the ends, pull it off, and put new one back on. To make it easier, you de-tach the fuel lines from the body about 2-3 feet in both directions of the filter to allow room to get the filter in & out. Have a bucket ready - as gas will spill out. A fire extinquisher ready...
No need to pump or purge the system.

 

The fuel filter is supposedly a non-serviceable item, but anyhoo, many change it out anyway.

It's located under the truck bolted to the frame right under the driver's seat.

 

It sounds simple enough. My truck has 75k miles on it. I bought it used two and half years ago. To my knowledge the fuel filter has never been replaced by any one. Should I go ahead withit. What are the advantages of changing the fuel filter? What problems can arise from having a dirty fuel filter? Does anyone knoe where I could get the owner's manual to my truck ? It wasn't included when I biught it.

Changing the fuel filter can be done easily and cheaply. For me, it was peace of mind..... Can't go wrong with a clean filter in there.
