Cool thanks guys. Will try that. I did just discover that both my wheel bearings are beyond shot!

That'll do it too. When you get the new unit bearings in, take them apart, clean and grease them. They only put enough grease on them for storage. I don't know why, but the 2nd gen folder is full of guys that argue not to grease them, and they are the same guys that complain when the bearings fail every 30K miles.

You'll probably have to grind everything apart/off and realign it/weld it back together when you get the glass on. They actually barely fit on my completely stock truck when I bought them.

Either way, I'd wait to install/fit check until you have everything put on. Why risk the extra work?

I would assume so, but you'd have to ask him.

    Edit: He does grease them.

" This means I have been building these units for almost 2 years now. One thing that I have learned is that in manufacturing of ALL aftermarket bearings, there is insufficient lubrication. The Koyo bearing EVERYONE gets are really no different. They have a minimal amount of bearing grease in them. I take the already great Koyo bearing and add an additional amount of quality high pressure, high temperature bearing grease. This extends the life of my bearing assemblies. I "

Either way, grease a shit ton. It'll throw out the extra and wash away. You can't over grease a bearing. I load mine up every time and they last forever, done this on every vehicle I've owned

Ya. Plus it helps keep water and mud out of the bearing. They are "sealed" but I grease the outside of the seal as well, even on the CV side where the ABS sensor rides.

12 hour flight today to play out in Ocotillo tomorrow. The excitement is paramount right now.

By 12 hours I mean I'm landing at noon local in LAX

Your painted lines look great. That cage should have been built with those tubes added, and your two tubes that meets in the middle really should have met at a junction and not been separated by that three to four inches. You can get away with doing this small boxed in section to tie those in better. This is what can happen when those tubes don't meet each other.

And those tubes were only about three quarters of an inch apart.

Nope...they probably didn't wanna deal with the body mount...or they were lazy idk...but I wanna fix it. I was gonna use all 1.75 Dom. It doesn't seem to hard but I reLly hate notching tubes, pretty difficult for me.

Just take your time, and one notch at a time. Cut the tubing a bit long, and notch as needed. For the c pillar, you can land it on top of the frame. So it'll come down like \ and not |

I don't use it but might help you if you know the angles of your notches.

I have a pro tools notcher, it works well but I also use a chop saw and grinder.
