No 2016 Tacomas have factory remote start. Some ports or dealers might install one...

Well. If you have smart with push button start . The range is very very limited. You don't kno if your car is actually started. And your car turns off when you unlock the car. Why would anyone want that.

If you don't have smart key, are the key and transmitter seperate anyways??

Do you not look at the mirrors anyway when you change lanes?

    Price.

    By about $8,000.

I would change everything about the 2016 and put it all back to the 2015 model except for the new body style and the interior color.

IIRC, Drone charges a monthly or yearly subscription fee. I guess it's the price of not having another key fob and the convenience of increased range...

I'll check Drone out again - thanks!

If you buy the 3yr basic plan its $120 ($40 a year). for our family use, it works out better due to distance to vehicles when parked. working in a metal building and a distance of 500-1000ft to vehicle is the big factor.

had the 1mile range fobs, but that range is crap when the structures/materials the signal has to go thru effectively makes where your work turn into a faraday cage.

I'm not sure how much drone costs but on my other car. I have the viper 2 way and added the smart start. Viper charges $150 for 3 years or 200 for 3 years w gps.

Even then, I still carry my keyfob with screen and I use it about 70% of the time. The other 30% is when I'm away from my key but my phone is always with me.

The lock n unlock has a 3-5 second delay when using phone so having keyfob is still mandatory.

I have been debating if I wanted to get smart start on the truck.

Oh, no shit. "Long Bed Limited" comes to mind, which is why I had to load up a Sport.

our requirements (distance, building) is what drove us to drone mobile.

since we use the oem fob to lock/unlock the vehicle not that big of an issue. only when we need to remote start is when we use the cellphone app since the fob doesn't reach out that far to where the vehicles are parked for the warden and myself.

the daughter works the same location as the wife, son goes to college and everyone knows the parking lots are no where close to where your classes are.

well technically if you position your mirrors correctly you pretty much eliminate the blind spot these sensor look for. but then again most drivers position the mirrors so they can see the side of the vehicle which is incorrect.

you shouldn't be able to see the side of your vehicle. you should be able to track the vehicle passing you looking at your rearview mirror and as it leave the rearview mirror, the side mirror should take over so you never lose contact using any of your mirrors.

Hey and you get a scoop as a bonus. :dancingbacon: I can see the issue though. Toyota doesn`t have the sales volumes to make available all the iterations in each market segment so they ship what sells the most. The Tacoma is only sold in the US and Canada though isn`t it. If that is the case other than for corporate tax issues for Toyota in Japan not sure why the two countries markets would be divided so clearly. I can`t imagine the truck requirements for North Dakota are any different than Saskatchewan or Southern Alberta and Montana.

Careful we have enough cross border teepee creeping. My sister lives with her husband in Spokane and now has duel citizenship.

I lived in Spokane for 5 years. Lovely town. Did a lot of day trips into Trail BC (fantastic chili and sandwich place downtown). Very disconcerting to see all the "BE BEAR AWARE" signs everywhere.
