When my sales person sold me the truck he said it does have HL standard. I drove the truck home and found the HL not there. I called him and he said he is sorry for the misunderstanding and they will install the HL for me at cost and it would be $400..... WTF? Which homelink are you getting for $200?

How about moving the parking Break handle back to the floor so more space can be added to the center console. Also better OEM tires on the TRD Sport and OR

Its not the mirror HL they want to add. Its the HL buttons that go in the sun visor they want to install for me. Which is ok I guess, better than nothing. I was just wondering what HL system VangaSLT was getting for $200?

    • Mud Flaps (they came with my 2007 as standard)
    • More steering wheel adjustment
    • Grab handle on driver's side (come on Toyota, it was there on my 2007)
    • Auto up/down windows on all four windows
    • USB port in center consul compartment as well as one for rear passengers
    • Power rear window
    • Key fob should lock and unlock tailgate
    • Re-think the rear disc brake thing

oh the $200 dollar ones, those are the 3rd party homelink mirrors you can get off ebay/Amazon/etc that have homelink/compass in them like the oem limited has.

Still waiting to take delivery of my Off Road but on test drive noticed
    1. No auto on/off headlights. Kinda ridiculous to have the nice LED DRL's without this
    2. No lift assist on tailgate
    3. Hood struts would be great
    4. Blade key work in tailgate

Otherwise I am super excited to get mine by the first snowfall.

A fellow got badly mauled near Fernie this summer. He got between a Grizzly Sow and her cub. Survived but got chewed up pretty bad. Insisted the bear not be put down as he felt all she was doing was protecting her cub. We have lots of bears up here both Black and Grizzly. You just have to be careful make lots of noise and carry a 12 guage with slugs.

There is auto on/off headlights. Maybe it's part of the prem/tech package?

    1. My biggest gripe is not having the oh shit handle on the drivers side. What the hell the designers were thinking there is baffling, that is an absolute must have in any truck. Hopefully subsequent years add them in so we can add on ours.
    2. Hood struts
    3. Power port located in convenient spot in rear of cab instead of hidden in center console. I bet half the owners have no idea they even have one in there.
    4. Fold down center cupholder/armrest for back seat.

I want the power rear window like the Tundra has. I really can't figure out why the Tacoma didn't get the same treatment...

Given he told you it was standard, they should be putting it in for free.

The only thing that will probably change in 2017 is a TRD Pro with a decent looking grill.

I'm worried the manual transmission won't last much longer. Maybe a few years before they decide it's not worth the effort for less than 5% of the trucks.

Speaking with one of the engineer's on the 2016 tacoma - i asked about auto windows and he told me some safety BS (which i dont believe, because the 4runner has it all the way around).
Now, he did mention, that a power sliding rear window would be coming out soon. I expect to see that for the 2017. I asked him many questions but that is the only one he answered. However, it will not be a full window like the tundra, just a power slider.
