The Drone RSD-3100S is $449.99 via Drone Mobile's website. These kits are listed all over ebay from $180 to $220. The ads seem convincing and legitimate and it is substantial savings. Has anyone seen this and is there something I'm forgetting or missing?

MT stuff, RTT stuff, the usual.
THIS. It would also be nice where its freezing cold out.

I don't have one on my tacoma yet, as it's still pretty new. I'll probably get a clifford when I do.

I just installed this same remote start in my taco, but DONT USE THE DBALL, use the PKALL. The DBALL requires you to load the data into it, and buy the extra connector for the computer. PKALL is totally plug and play, wire it up, hold a button while you turn the key, and it learns your trucks code.

The range on this remote start is insane, i start my truck from the 10th floor of my building, sitting at my desk that is nowhere near a window. All Factory remote start's range is a joke from what i've ever seen at least.

Read this thread front to back, theres a lot of info here, but it's all necessary to do the install right. It's not an easy job at all if you've never done one before. but it can be done, my install worked perfect first try. The 4806v is similar enough to the remote start units referenced in this thread, so you can use it to do the install.

When it's minus 30 and all your windows have 1/8" of solid ice under 6" of snow, remote start is more about softening that stuff so you can brush it off. Plastic ice scraper doesn't do much until it's warmed up for a few minutes. It's not always about a warm butt.

yes, the PKALL will work great too. I was only getting the DBALL because price is a wash and I already have the loader.

I've added viper smart start to every new car I've bought and will do the same for this one.
I need to know it's started from inside the plant and Factory remote start doesn't have enough range for me.
I'm a princess and need a warm car to climb into!
About $500 installed at Dr dashboard and $130 for 3 years use of the phone app.

that is the one i used with smart start. smartstart is nice for starting when you don't have your key handy or if you wanna check status of your car. lock and unlock with phone is impractical because there is a delay(5 seconds), so i primarily use remote to lock n unlock.

works with manual too but you gotta push the start button every time before you take key out ignition. there are ways around not having to do sequence for manual but i never bothered. i just delt w it.

if you end up not getting smart start and just use the transmitter. it says 1 miles but its realistically only quarter to half mile.

best buy did the install for me. took him 6 hours to install that with the kicker hideaway.

Installed Cooper At/3's (265/70R16) and ProComp 7089 Rims. Tinted front windows. Did the Fog Light Anytime mod. Did the tailgate mod. Added running boards. Adding sound Deadening from RAAMaudio. Replacing stock speakers with Polk Audio DB6501's.
From the looks of this, even if you did start it, where would you go?

When you remote start can you just drive away or do you have to put your key in?

remote starts have a kill feature if the brake pedal is pushed without the key in the socket and in the 'run' position.

most of them turn off the car when you unlock/open door(can't remember which one it is). then you have to turn back on. its quite annoying.

Don't know if you already got yourself a remote starter but I got myself this plug and play kit. So easy to install. There are 3 CrimeStopper Cool Start models, I got the the 2nd one with a one button remote:

Would you rather be annoyed or have someone drive away with your car?

    That's what it is for.
