This thread sucks. If you want entertaining go to this thread in the 2nd Gen Forums by a noted 3rd Gen poster:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...en-owners-posting-their-problems-here.399462/

Crux of the thread is "OP comes on the second gen forums, thinking he is posting in the third gen forums, bashing second gen guys, while having in his profile he owns a second gen, while in reality he owns a Frontier"

Rest of the thread is OP getting roasted.

Puts the Tard in Tard Gen.

This thread does not suck. Lot's of good info.

Did you know, the Wagon Queen Family Truckster (Ford) is the finest off road truck ever made?

Please read what JD Power is all about. They do surveys PAID FOR by manufacturers. Their quality ratings are initial ratings not long term. If a car comes well prepped by a good dealer, it gets a top rating. You don't have a freak'n clue what it will be like a coup,e of years down the road.

I would be pissed too if I spent thousands for a car and picked up an issue of CR with all the surveys from the like owners who said in three years my truck would turn into a piece of shit. Instead, I guess the car maker is the most reliable source. They will tell you the truth. What would they have to lie about. I get you are under the impression that Chevy trucks do well for reliability for CR....they don't. Toyota's always rank better for reliability in CR ratings by their readers.

Consumer Reports does 2 things: Product testing and owner surveys. The 20 least reliable vehicles list is not based on their testing but on owners' own experiences with their vehicles. It's not a stretch to say Toyota vehicles overall are more reliable than GM vehicles. Colorado ranking at #8 least reliable due to transmission, in-car electronics and HVAC issues as reported by owners. #1 is the Fiat 500L and #20 is Mercedes C-Class. Some Colorado owners will cry foul and claim CR is "biased".

When CR does their product testing of trucks, they by necessity will show some bias. These people, are testing trucks and most of them are full size. Going fom a 385 hp aluminum F150 that doesn't weigh a heck of lot more then a 235 hp 10 year old Taco, is not going to leave a good taste in a tester's mouth. Let's face it, other then reliability, A ten year old Taco sucks compared to new full size trucks. I don't know why people are upset that CR doesn't rate Tacos very high. Guess some never tried out a turbo charged f150 that goes 0 to 60 before a Taco can decide if it wants to be in the atikinson cycle or not.

I'll agree Toyota in years past had a reliability edge. Things change in the market, the New GM is operating differently. The New CEO Mary Barra says "no crappy cars and trucks" Nice to state that as a goal, recent numbers from everyone seem to reflect progress.
Colorado/Canyon now past first model yr glitches, '16 Taco is "New" so we'll all see what happens this yr. Toyota had to can a key supplier Takata today over exploding airbags. Great Vehicle choices out there, I'll be keeping an open mind.
