silvertaco17 IMHO you should get maxtrac spindles and an AAL like what's said above you could get that setup for around 1K without install it would ride the best and DCSBFTMFW is a buddy and knows his stuff

Do they make a spindle left less than 4"? I feel like 4" is pretty high to go for a daily driver, IMO.

4" is it unless you feel like paying 2X the price to go down half an inch.
And $1000 budget isn't even worth the trouble. I bought a fair share of used parts and my total for suspension and tires is $3000. That was with used tires that cost only $500. So that's $2500 just in lift and I still have to buy UCA's and new rear shocks among other things.

OP, save your money up and do proper suspension work. If you go cheap, you actually wind up spending much more because you will end up doing it all over again.

I've done a suspension cheap (wrong) on a Firebird. It was the worst riding car I have ever been in. I did a suspension right on my GTO..$1500 was just springs and shocks for that. In total my GTO has about 3k in the suspension. It rides low, it takes corners tight...and its still amazingly smooth.

A budget of $1000 is basically no budget at all, especially for a 4 inch lift. My buddy did a 2 inch block lift with wheels and tires on his Silverado for $2200... and that was super cheap.

My advice would be to do your research and price out the components you want/need. DO NOT base it solely on cost. Base it on what will be best for what you want in terms of use and feel. Price everything out, then save up to do it right.

Sidenote...have you seen a Tacoma with 4 inches of lift? Thats a big lift. If this is your DD I think it would get cumbersome.

Ill second this. My previous DD truck had a 6" lift, and after a while it was annoying as shit. I will not lift my 15' Taco more than just to level it out with like a 2" spacer of sort. I dont plan on wheeling it through rocks and what not so the factory height is probably good enough for me to tool around some offroad areas for camping...

Looks like a Gen2.5 TRD Sport, but really an '08 TRD OffRoad
    TRD Supercharged / OTT Tuned
    (If you have a 2WD Pre-Runner)

    $320 - 4" lift spindles
    $85 - rear add-a-leaf spring
    $160 - Bilstein 5125
$50 - rear lift block (optional)
(use stock front shocks and coils/leafs)
    ---------
    ~$610 for lift parts

Estimate $300-500 for shop to install/alignment. Depends on the shop and labor rates. Or DIY and save $$$.
End Result: 4" front lift..... 2"+ rear lift. No need for UCAs.

If you feel that the 4" lift makes getting in/out of your truck a chore, then with the $$$ saved from above, purchase:
    $330 - 2" NFab Nerf Steps
DIY install or est. $100 for a shop to do it.

(Hope you have a wheel/tire solution to fill out the wheel well/fender space)

    OP requested:
    - 4 inch lift kit (CHECK)
    - for daily driver (CHECK)
    - don't need anything serious (CHECK)
    - function well on-road (CHECK)
    - simply for looks. (CHECK)
    - not looking to spend a ton of $$$ (CHECK)

Why would a DD need a 4 inch lift? Put the money in a 401k, 50 years from now you will thank me.
