Hey guys (and gals?), just thought I would introduce myself on here.

I have been perusing the forums to obtain 3rd gen info for quite some time that I didn't yet know. This is the place to obtain the latest and greatest updates. Great community you have here.

I work at Toyota R&D and plan on buying a Taco in the next 4 months or so. [BLACK DCSB TRDOR MANUAL 4X4 FTMFW!] So yes, I knew of some things first but :spy:; company policy and all. . . Mostly set on the Taco because of discount on vehicle/parts and the lack of a new Ranger (and manual transmissions).

I sincerely regret getting rid of my 2004 Ranger. It had a 3.0 V6, 5spd and was the last year of the flareside. It was an exceptional truck and I had no issues with it in over 135K miles. I feel the Tacoma will be similar, if not better.

I have been a Ford guy my whole life and never thought I would work for Yota, let alone purchase one, but here I am.

These are some of my past/current vehicles:

Welcome to TW Mr Tepster :). You had a very pretty black Ford truck and I'll bet your new Tacoma will be even better. It's really neat that you work for Toyota R&D. I support a bunch of R&D engineers at work. Engineers make for a very interesting group! I'm sure everyone here wishes you the best finding your new Tacoma!

Oh yes indeed, I have finally accepted the reliability as well as the resale. Plus the 16 is growing on me haha.

Fords have been hit or miss in all honesty. The F150 has a battery siphoning gremlin somewhere. Kills the battery within 8 hours and is very inconvenient.

I look forward to the Taco!

Thank You! R&D is full of colorful characters for sure. I quite like it. It makes the job more interesting. I appreciate the kind words about my Ferd and my future Tacoma. I am positive it will be just as mean/pretty.

    That's what I hear!
