I just got to work but when I get back out to my truck later today i'll do another check, i only see symbols like an arrow and some dots on it. I'll confirm it but now i'm interested in knowing what glass I have.

I just got the truck in August, the wipers are good and new, on the old windshield they worked really well. I was very impressed with it actually, my test drive was in the rain. They definitely had an outside shop come in to do the repair but they didn't do a good job. I can see seal from the inside of the cab too. :/

I've had my windshield replaced through the dealership by a 3rd party they use. Mine had the whistling at high speeds problem. I'm pretty sure mine says Toyota but i made sure to ask for Toyota glass. They also said they wouldn't remove a windshield without replacing it when it goes back in. I'll look when I get back to my truck this afternoon to see if and where it says Toyota.

Had my windshield replaced by the dealer at their bodyshop.i took it to the dealer assuming i would get an OEM windshield. i never asked whether it was OEM at the time. When i looked at this thread i decided to look at my replacement windshield.Bottom driver side corner the label says PGW tint laminate and underneath DOT 563. i assume PGW stands for Pittsburg glass works who along with Pilkington are supposedly top notch.Looking up DOT 563 that says made by Shenzhen auto glass manufacturing in China. Now im confused as to whether it would be OEM or not.Regardless my replacement windshield is flawless as far as im concerned.

    Hey guys,
I'm up in BC and how it worked up here was the dealership contracted the glass work out. Now they had a set rate with us when we did warranty work for them which meant we would re/re the windshield and use the same windshield to install back into the vehicle. So if you have an "aftermarket" piece of glass in there now it's because they broke your original when they took it out. On a side note no Car Manufacture makes their own glass, it's just stamped with Toyota, Ford, or Chevy logo at one of the aftermarket glass manufacture that was the OEM supplier for that body style.

For a solution to your streaking problem clean it with "0000" steel wool and get your windshield treated with Aquapel. That should work but if it does msg me.

Toyota OEM glass will have the letters TOYOTA instead of the logo.

The logo is an fy m848 with dot 459 and as 1 under it. That looks to be the cheap Chinese glass. DOT459 FUJIAN YANHUA GLASS INDUSTRY, CO., LTD. HONGLU TOWN, CHINA - See more at: http://www.carwindshields.info/dot_db#sthash.BFmhdGFu.dpuf

    This.
I was looking at mine last night with not the bast lights. The vinyl sticker ends right above where the toyota etched or painted on the glass is.

Mine definitely has toyota and some numbers that I doubt can be removed.

    My factory glass says:
    TOYOTA
    UNITED L-N
    DOT-404

DOT-404 is for UNITED L-N Glass Inc VERSAILLES, KY, USA

After all this, I have to bring it back to have the windshield replaced, the new one is leaking into the A-frame pillar.

    Mr ClammyPeach,

We had a leak that I had to get fixed. I was told to make sure it was fixed with only Toyota parts so I talked to the service manager guy first. He said he was glad I said something to him first because they usually use a $200 windshield as there are very few windshields replaced under warranty. He said usually replacement windshields are from a rock and people want the cheaper solution when not covered by warranty. If the replacement is a defect, then they do fix it under warranty and all warranty repairs are supposed to be done with only Toyota parts :). He also said the Toyota windshield is thicker glass and is overall better and costs $800. Maybe it was an honest mistake and they will fix it as soon as you point it out :).

Dealer probably charged Toyota for OEM and pocketed the diff. I would be pissed too. Shop that replaced mine few weeks ago said that quite often the glass from China fits better than anything else. Not sure what they put in mine but it looks fine.

I'm going in tomorrow to fight the good fight, so far I've had only bad service for the things I brought my truck for. After this issue I'm switching the dealer that works on my truck.

They are telling me the windshield is going to get in on the 25th...that's 3 weeks for delivery of glass. Anyone have input if that sounds right?
