USB port

looking to add a dual usb port.
unsure which one i should get.
here are my options

this one doesnt light up and is a direct fit.

and this one lights up amber, which should match rest of the lighting

however a little bit of trimming is needed to fit. i just dont want to over trim and screw up the slot

which one do you guys think i should go with anyone have experince trimming the slot? do i have alot to trim or is it just a hair?

 

yeah id honestly like to not trim. but i do like the amber lighting of the other one.

 

Just curious how do you know that one doesn't light up?

 

I take a dremel to everything but that's just me. I also have a 1st gen and I love having the custom fit stuff in there just because it looks factory but it's all custom accessories

 

yeah thats a reason i want the amber as it would look factory. do you have any amber aftermarker lights? wondering how the light looks compared to stock

what gauge wiring should i use? or does it really not matter?

 

ok so than doesnt matter what size i use. believe i have 14 gauge laying around i used for my foglight mod

yeah im pretty sure im going to get it. still deciding what one to get. really digging the lit one over non lit as it looks cooler

 

Yeah I have PIAA fog lights and Police lights in the grille, but in terms of interior I have an orange floorboard glow that looks super clean and it's wired to turn on in sync with the radio/sub. All wiring is 100% soldered, shrink wrapped, put in the wiring corrugated tube and tucked to look stock with the rest of the wires. Even the speakers are cut to fit the stock door panels so it doesn't look like anything is there, but it bumps

 

would i need to trim to fit this carling switch??

how do i access the area to get the blank switch out?
have no idea what i need to do. can anyone help??

 

got the switch shaved. and shaved out the blank hole. fits great.
have to just wire it up.
will post pics tomorrow of it installed
