I know probably a dumb question but...

I have an 06 DCSB SR5 and all suspension is stock except the rear shocks were just replaced with the heavy duty Bilsteins. My ass end sags a little due to the CBI Bed Rack & RTT. If I were to get a Wheelers 1.5" Progressive would I need new shocks as well?

Yes you would need shocks meant for an AAL like Bilstein 5100's per se.

Dumb question? Not really, makes total sense but what's the current condition of the springs/shocks that are on there now (2006? TSB leaf pack?) Adding 1.5" and new shocks to an already blown out leaf pack is like painting a car without doing the body work.... I had an OEM leaf pack that had lost about 1.5" due to them sagging so bad. Due to the weight of your addition gear maybe looking into a new leaf pack with according shocks might save you some time if you do it once and do it right the first time. I like my 1.5" Icon pack with 5100's but when fully loaded it bottoms out and that, I hate.

Yeah it's not even the TSB just the shitty 3 leaf. With nothing in the bed before rack and tent I would bottom out running over a fly. I put the Bilstiens on about two months ago and it made a world of difference. Then about a month ago I got the Rack and moved the tent from over the cab to on the rack and I am back to bottoming out over speed bumps and bumps on the road at highway speeds.

Supposedly according to Toyota in early 2016 they are supposed to have the fix out for the leaf spring recall or whatever was/is going on so I am just looking at options. But every time I think about it I keep going back to a full new Leaf pack. Dakars or AllPro Expo's or something.

I want a lift but I want to stay under the 2-2.5" mark as I don't want to deal with UCA's, vibes, shims etc. I don't wheel I just take old shitty back roads to get into isolated areas away from Subarus and Prius.

I guess I should suck it up and do the Adjustable Bilsteins with 1.6" lift coils up front & the 5100 with Dakar or AllPro in the rear.

If it means anything, the TSB for the leaf springs is a joke. The new improved leaf spring pack still bottoms out. If you're half ways commited to upgrading the rear with all new stuff, do it. I'm on my third set (OEM, TSB OEM, TSB w/1.5AAL no overload) and still not happy when I'm loaded down

OME 883# on Tundra 5100's, OMD custom 3" leafsprings, rear shock relocation, Ivan Stewart TRD rims w/285/75/16's, '02 bumper MOD, Famous Fabrications sliders , LED interior/exterior lights, bed bar, Custom tube bumper, Old school KC day lighters,Red Ring 8" HID flood, Kenwood vhf 2M.. umm some other shit I'm forgetting right now
Generally with 2nd gens you can get away with going up 1" without changing to a longer shock,
(1st gens should always get longer shocks after any lift)

But with increasing springs you're now "over sprung" & need more dampening to compensate for it so why not just get the extended shocks to match the springs ??...:notsure:
