Those are usually from the top plate only spacers which droop the struts down so far that the strut takes all the stress before hitting the bumpstops.

A spacer is a spacer no matter how big it is.. They are all bad. The bigger you go the more stress on the lower strut mount

If you want a spacer lift go with the readylift. If you're just driving on the street with a day here and there in the mud or dirt you will be fine. The kit has the spaces, diff spacer and say bar spacer.

If you're a hard core wheeler it's a different story.

Well then he should have raised his bump stop if he was pushing it to the limits.

As long as the manufacturer can do their homework and cycle the front to ensure the suspension isn't over extending the ball joints and the bumps are still coming into play on up travel at forced compression, there is nothing wrong with a spacer lift. Where the problem stands is people hear shit from others on here who don't quite know what they are talking about and than repeat this same shit to more people. An example of this is stating one spacer (lets say a top plate of the same dimensions/material) is better than another OR that all spacers are crap.

Whats crap is ignorance and continuing to pass along this ignorance to those eager enough to bite on it.

The spacers will fit no problem. The problem is the only kit Toytec has tested is their boss kit. Good on @ToyTec Lifts for not giving you a straight up YES just to make a buck. They're more worried about your tacoma. I spent some time on the phone with Scott (who was lucky enough to drive their truck to SEMA) and he was super helpful. He contacted fox and old man emu directly to check on any fitment issues with my kit. I'm the one taking the risk installing an unproven kit on a redesigned tacoma. I'll be fine.

I went with Toytec 521600 coils and top plate. 2" block in the rear.

You couldn't pay me to put spacers under a new $35K truck. Going Icon up front and All-Pro leaf packs in the rear.

Yes, me too. Sad how all these people put blocks under their rigs so it looks like it had a lift. It's all for looks with these people

For me it is. It would be a wast of money to spend 3k. The most I go off road is when I go to a winery, apple picking or to get out of the mall parking lot at holiday season. Other then that I just have snow to deal with.

If I was to find myself going off road more or mudding. Then I'd be the first to go with an icon system.

Why do you need a lift if you aren't going off roading?
