After a few nervous hours finally finished the DTRL mod with OEM light switch. That leaves me one open spot on the top row for a rear fog light or an extra rear backup light.

Anyone ever consider setting it up so the rear turn signals are tied to a switch and stay on?

Would the tail lights be too high to function as a rear fog light?

I realize rear fog lights never caught on, and even those cars that had them usually could only legally have one. Just seems like it would be cool to have a switch that would turn on the taillights in storm conditions. Was just wondering if it has been done.

I love when the people in the Audi in front of me have that thing on with zero fog at night to blind myself and others . Sorry random thought :D.

Actually never seen one in action. I am guessing they are red so they don't mess up other drivers night vision. One site had a mod for a car that used the existing led taillights, although it may have only been one side.

It would be kind of cool, want someone to follow you, turn on the rear fog light and you would be hard to loose.

The rear fog light on the Audi is VERY bright and blinding when it's on without fog. I'm not saying anything against your mod idea, just inconsiderate"people". I'm actually much more for this idea then the "people" that tint their taillights black .

Most state laws say no white light to the rear while in motion. Of course unless you are backing up.

I wouldn't use your brake lights. That would leave just your third brake light to let people know when you're actually braking.

Nice install looks clean. Is it a smoked clear lens? Is it going to illuminate red? Did you just wire it to a switch in the cabin?

remember, the fog should only be on the drivers side. That tells the driver behind which side of the car to pass on in heavy fog. assuming people obey the left lane is for passing idea, which they never do. and the fog light is as bright as the brake light, no brighter. same bulb actually.

Yep. But a reminder to others. I see people do the double fog mod all the time.
