This is asking a lot, but does anyone live near the Newark pick n pull? They just got a new red 4Runner in and I could really use the hood off it. Only problem is there is no picture so I have no clue if it is in good shape or not. I will probably be heading up on Sunday to see it but if one of you guys lives real close, has some spare time and wants to make some extra cash I'd appreciate the help.

If anyone lives near any pic n pull and can pull the entire transmission mount/crossmember off of a 2nd gen 4x4, Id really appreciate it :D

Bought some N Fabs from @Tac0maSteve last night. Another solid addition for the Tacoma. I think the next step is the OEM roof rack then pay off the credit card so I can buy all new suspension/tires in time for the 2020 TW Christmas tree run.

Any of you Northern CA folk use the inReach satellite products? GPS, text, SOS service devices? If so, are you happy with them?

Thinking about getting one for excursions that are out of cell phone service for emergencies.

I have the inReach SE for use on solo trips. Provides two-way email comms and allows people at home to see your location on the map if you turn the tracking on (pings the bird every 10 minutes). And an SOS button for use if the shit really hits the fan.
Also leaves a trail you can reference later. Still use a Garmin and paper backup for navigation, though. Recommend.
Had it on at Hungry Valley for no good reason, here's a screenshot of the map view afterwards.

Thanks for the input! I really appreciate it. I think I'm going to go pick one up today so the wife knows I'm alive when I disappear into the mountains for backpacking.

So it looks like the service is pretty good in regards to email/text as long as you are open to the sky?

For in-vehicle use, mine is mounted on the a-pillar for reasonably open sky and bluetooth to the app on my phone. Away from a power source, you'll want to limit the bluetooth usage to save battery. You can store pre-programmed messages and addresses on the inReach itself to help this and lighten your load...

Yeah I also saw that pre-programmed messages don't go against your text allowance for the month which I thought was pretty cool. I think I'll pull the trigger on one, looks like a good safety measure to take.

Good luck finding a 2 gen in a pick and pull. At least around here there is never one the Toyota yards that strip them and resell parts must outbid them or something.

I've seen a couple on craigslist...not sure if its a Pic N Pull or just a junkyard trying to sell parts

Probably, yea. I need to email a couple and see if they've got a 4x4 2nd gen trans mount.
