Hey, I'm Dave from Orlando FL. I have been trolling the forum because i am considering buying a 2002 TRD with 145,000 miles on her. The seller is asking 8800, but I am going to hit him with 7k and see if he jumps. My buddy that works at the auctions said 8k is a solid price because his retail would be 10.5. (He looked up the serial number and car fax for me). I am just looking for any problems on that model that I can search for before I pull the trigger.

Word of advice don't say you've been trolling the threads it's an open invitation for the trolls to troll the thread your trolling but anyways yea you don't want to be trolled on or join in trolling straight out the gate. Second welcome to TW. And third the deal sounds pretty solid to me that's a good price and a good truck not many problems with 1st gens just check out the service records in the car fax and see how well maintained it has been

OK maybe "trolling" was the wrong word. I have just been reading up as much as I can about the first gen tacos to make sure it is worth my money. I also wanted to see about the difficulty of replacing parts that are known to wear out by 150k miles so I know it is something I can handle in my carport. Thanks!

I don't own one personally but make sure to double check the frame really well and all bushings for wear and tear the first gens are notorious for rusty frames
