Newbiew to the the forum here.

So I applied scotchguard to the door trim and created a nasty spot. I read the label and it said it contains some nasty chemicals so I tried it on a small area of a seat and nothing bad happened. so I applied liberally to all surfaces that I bleieved need to be scotchguarded.
Well it created a white spot on the door trim -the part that is texthured like cloth-, I panicked and believed that maybe the material was actually plastic and not fabric.
So i got some armor all cleaner and applied a quick dab. It looks better but not perfect.

Anybody know if this is fabric or plastic?
What is the best way to clean this?

    Help

    BTW love the truck

mats, flaps, and stickers. Extang solid fold 2.0. Mobtown sliders and full skids. AVS vents
I've heard to stay away from armorall, some peeps use 303 protectant instead.

Yeah, it's some kind of rubberized plastic or something.
I thought it was cloth at first too. I'm like, "who the hell puts cloth up there?"
    Post a pic?

Scotch guard will mess up plastics. Same with 303 fabric protector. I learned the hard way with my old jeep. Left permanent marks in the plastic that the overspray got on.

    Thanks

I think I'll try soapy water first.
Will post before and after pictures. Still not 100% sure that i am dealing with plastic or not though.

Scotch Guard is a waterproofing agent. By definition, water is not going to remove it.
