    Another Update:
Went and talked to the body shop this morning and they were supposed to be expediting my truck to get it back into a condition where it will at least run. That way they could take it over to the service department to have Diagnostics run on the Engine and Transmission. They haven't even touched my truck. I'm going to call state farm and see if they can't get in contact with them and try to push them along.

Yea I only have 11 more days with the rental car before I have to start paying on it. I'm about to tell the body show that I'm going to take $22 a day everyday after November 13th until I get my truck back out of the deductible.

Just spoke to the body shop manager. They just starting repairs on the truck and it could be another 3-4 weeks before repairs are done. I am so fuming mad right now I can barely think. I can't go 3 weeks without a car and I can't afford $240 some dollars for a rental car.

Sorry haven't been reading all of this thread, but how long have they had the truck? And did you tell them that you were going to take the money off the deductible?

They have had the truck since the 16th of October. I have 11 days left with the rental car through insurance. The manager said he would put me on a loaner car waiting list when I mentioned the deductible.

Why do you think that your problem with the rental car is the fault of the body shop? They are busy I am sure. They have placed you on a list for a loaner. It sounds like they are trying to help. Too bad it wasn't the other drivers fault, then they would be paying for the rental...

I wish you the best on your repairs.

After talking to the manager several times then having state farm talk to the manager There are two different stories. The manager told state farm that I ordered them to stop working until my truck was totaled which was bull. My truck is being moved tomorrow to a State Farm select service provider. I found out that they never put my truck up on a lift to see if the engine mounts or transmission mount were damaged. Thats when I decided to move my truck. This way it gets fixed right.

    this^

they don't run on your schedule and you still have to pay your insurance deductible, that's why it exists

and well, you did try and try to get them to total it so the confusion came from your side so not surprised the manager was holding it.

it sucks and I feel for ya, but the policy you signed with your ins. determines how things get handled.

it sounds like you are dealing solely with the ins. company now so GL man... and don't wreck the rental :D

I also got tired of going in one day and being told one thing. Then them coming back and saying well thats not possible and we can't just jump you to the front of the line. like Last Thursday I talked to state farm and expressed my concern about the shop not doing an engine and transmission diagnostic. They told me to talk to the shop so I drove down there and talked to them. The guy I talked to at the shop told me that he would Expedite the process of getting the truck back into a condition where the truck can be driven and take it over to the service department at the dealership. he said it might be Monday before it can go into service. I was in the area this morning so I stopped by to see how it was doing. They hadn't even touched the truck and was told that there are vehicles in front of me and service runs on their own schedule and they cant just take my truck over and make them run a diagnostic. I walked out pissed and said that I should have taken my Vehicle elsewhere and the guy said well you still can. So I started making phone calls to state farm and they agreed to move it to one of their select service providers.

The guy at the body shop its going to is going to call me as soon as it gets there and so I can take him the Estimate that I have from the Toyota Bodyshop and show him my concerns and he said he would put it up on a lift while I'm there and look at the engine and transmission mounts.

Serious, Are you for real? You do know the insurance "select service provider" is only used because they will do the job as cheaply as possible with aftermarket & used parts.

Maybe you may want to research before you make such decisions. You can give then your opinion but leave the repair decisions to the professionals.

Good luck with the "Select Provider"

At this point I don't care I just want the truck fixed or Totaled. I've already talked to the body shop and they said they will use the same parts the other shop would use. I'm gonna get rid of the truck after I get my taxes back next year anyways. I never should have gotten rid of my 2012 tacoma.

I gotta agree with the others, I would not use an insurance body shop as its going to be fixed as cheap as possible.

Thats if they fix it. This guy is actually going to look at the engine and transmission mounts and see if they are damaged. The toyota body shop never even put my truck up on a lift.

Just curious how keeping your 2012 would have changed things?

Because I would have hit higher on the truck I hit. So i would have hit bumper on tailgate. I might not have even gotten in an accident in the first place. And it wasn't a manual so I was more comfortable driving it.

Finally got word that they are totaling the truck. Second body shop found $15600 in damages. Which brought it up to 88% of the truck total value. And we settled at a little over $18,000 so the truck will be completely paid off and I will get $1700 to put down on a new truck.
