Yep... he was annoying me earlier though... I knew he was done outside and wanted to go in but he can't get up the deck so I have to carry him in. Well he sat at the bottom of the steps waiting for me but then wouldn't let me pick him up. So I went up the stairs without him and opened and closed the door and waited. He freaked out and started whimpering so I went back down to pick him up and he did it again... so I went back and opened and closed the door and then listened to him whimper for about 5 minutes and then went down and picked him up... and he was pretty happy to be inside! Stupid puppy ;) haha

He can do stairs. I think he just knows I'll carry him. He's better about the stairs with Candice I guess but he won't go up or down them with me. Haha

Just make him a ramp out of a 2x8 lol.

You don't want to reinforce that after he takes a dump he gets carried in like a king.

Don't use puppy pads either. They'll just wind up like Lisa.

Our deck is about 10 steps up... I'd need a long 2x8. I think I'll just keep carrying him for a few more weeks and he'll be big enough to easily navigate the stairs. He's already doubled in size in the week we have had him. He can look out the back glass door now while sitting. haha

Yeah. haha. I don't think he realizes those are stairs yet. The ones I was referring to with my wife are the stairs into the garage. There are 4 of them and I guess he goes up and down them just fine with her. With me he would try to get up the first one and give up. Now he doesn't even try. He'll just sit there and stare at me no matter how much I coax him.

We bought a 6 ft x 10 ft kennel and put it in the heated garage and that is where he spends his time while we are at work so he encounters those stairs a lot.

I think so which is what causes half the problem I'm sure. He just doesn't like the deck at all really. I have a hard time getting him to walk on the main level and if I set him on the lower level he starts whining and trying to get off. He just needs more time to get used to everything I'm sure. Hell I'm still getting used to it all. haha

I spent several hours outside today after the snow melted working on puppy proofing the backyard. The previous owners had a full grown lab and aussie so it was dog proof, but it is certainly not puppy proof yet.
