Seen this on FB today two days old.

 

Has anybody hawaii'd the fuck out of a 3rd gen yet? I'm talking 6 inch lift with some 18x18 wheels and 30x22 boggers

 

correction: 6" DB lift, 3" body lift and 15x14 Reals on stretched 31" Boggers, or 22x12/14 Fuels on 33" Trail Grapplers. LOL

 

which tires did u get? Prated or LT? and what size

gonna be the toyo open country A/T prated in a 265/70/17.

 

u got the tires from toyota? im only asking cuz i went to price the same tires and got a pretty hefty quote compared to yours. except mine were 265/75/16s

 

yup from toyota. regular price they charge for the 265/70/17 is $297 a tire.

Interesting article in Car & Driver Magazine about their Colorado vs Tacoma feature:

Well, they aren't lying... But if it works and it sells, why change it? IMO, they are just trying to get the styling to appeal to more "American" buyers. By that, I mean people who would normally buy an American truck. Big grills, angular styling, and bolder presence. They aren't trying to redesign the character of the truck. Its an expensive, nearly bare bones truck, that rides like a car. At least the amenities are getting better. I bet that if they made a Lexus version of a Tacoma or hilux, it would sell very well in the US.

 

The more I see these on the road, the more I like them. I noticed they dont come with mud flaps!

 

They have clear protective plastic on the bottom side of the fender after the tire. Same like the one on our rear fender flare.

 

I wonder how this will work for safety? do inspection sites know that vehicles come with/without mud flaps out of the factory? or more importantly, how does this work for recon?
