So I have owned my 2008 DC for 30days now. I traded a 2006 Acura TL for this truck. I own a boat and got tired of asking someone with a truck to come out with me or asking to borrow a truck.

    Tacoma Cons so far:
Temperature controls are Red or Blue. No Temp indicators
AC fan speed is a combination of settings and driving speed. ugh!
No dual climate controls. Girlfriend is always cold while Im sweating my balls off.
    No Leather
No Nav - Sonn to change
    Crappy Factory Stereo
    No power seats
Cant see Radio while wearing Polarized Glasses
WTF is that 1964 red digital clock doing on a 2008 dash?
Red Dash lights? C'mon throw some blue in there, its 2008!

    Pros:
Dont have to get new tires every 20K
Dont have to get new shocks every 30K
Dont have to slow down for small bumps
    Pulling my Boat!
Great Looking Truck (TRD Off Road Silver!)
    11 cup holders!
    big center console
    110V!

replace the stock head unit like many members have done and the stock speakers will sound 100x better.

rad. make sure you take photos, and notes for a writeup on what you did.

theres several threads right now about sound deadening.

I personaly dont notice any excessive road noise, but after riding in Acuras I imagine you would notice a difference.

For cons, I can't believe you never mentioned non-locking taligate, cheap tailgate, lack of d-rings, carpet flooring, and no heated mirrors.

The pros still outweight the cons though. Your cons seem petty to me :)

I think all that stuff should be available as an option. NAV,Leather, all Power, Dual Climate etc are all convienence items. Toyota has always gotten by on the Tacoma crowd not really needing/wanting any of that stuff. But, it should be out there from the factory. Not everyone who drives a Taco is a Off-road guy, surfer, outdoorsman etc. For those people, having something to haul thier stuff with is the main reason for buying a Taco. And for those people, they look/desire those features.

Me personally, I think power seats should be there. Power doors and wndows and no seat? C'mon. I think BT should be avaiable for all models. Great safety feature. NAV should be an option at least. I mean they have the dash for it.

All in all, it still is the best small pickup (if you can call it small) there is right now. Altho the frontier has made some headway, the Taco's still rule in that category.
