Hey guys! I just found Tacomaworld. I have a 2014 Toyota Tacoma v6 access can with 25k
I started and drove about 2 minutes this morning and I noticed the needle was 75% of the way up to hot. The scan gauge read out that coolant temp was 240F. I stopped and opened the hood. There is barely any coolant in the reservoir. It is about 1 inch under "low."

    1. Did I do any damage?
    2. What do I do now? I don't have a mechanic and this is my first car.

Thanks for all of your help!

Welcome to TW. It is unlikely you did damage if you noticed and stopped, and your needle was hot but not in the danger zone. Being 2014 with 25k you are still under warranty. Take it to your local dealer and have it checked and fixed for free.

X2 - You did things right - you bought a scan gauge and you shut it off right away.

    Thanks Guys!
You have been immensely helpful! It turns out that a possum was making a home of my engine compartment. When I turned the car on the fan sliced/hit it into the radiator at some serious speed. The radiator had a visible crack in it. Dealer is charging 491.93 for new radiator, fan, and labor. 1 week estimate.
    - Thanks again
