Ha no problem, frost is starting to melt and time to go fire up the leaf blower. It will give me something else to play in my head now besides that thing!

Yeah, fighter guys are that way. My airshow boss was an F15 driver, great guy once I figured the direct approach required dealing with the type. He's the man that got me on Fat Albert and an incentive F15 flight a couple weeks after the show. As a primarily airlift big plane guy for the better part of my career (except for the two tours working rescue), the last place I thought I'd find myself is the backseat of a F15. :D

For the tanker guy, he should remind them NKAWTG ... Nothing Kicks Ass Without Tanker Gas. ;)

IMG_20140918_123720099.jpg IMG_20140918_123230389.jpg I think I posted this in the 40's thread, not here. This is taken from my front porch. NAS Oceana Air Show this year. I am just in awe of what these guys can do. I swear if I didn't think I'd toss my cookies, I would love to go for a ride just once.

Damn I must be getting soft, had to come back inside to get gloves LOL.

NKAWTG LOL I will remember that, thanks! The fighter pilots when they retired not surprisingly took jobs as pilots at commercial airlines, one was just forced to retire again due to age restrictions. And they are all great guys I enjoy seeing them each year. The tanker driver Bill when he retired decided he wanted to help vets so he took a relatively low paying job in Spearfish, SD to do that. Besides me there was only one other enlisted person that hunts in the group, Kevin who was an Army Green Beret and spent 3 tours in Nam. After that he went back to Boston and became a LEO and worked the Combat Zone until he retired. Couple of years ago Kevin started to get backaches and his Doctor at Mass. General diagnosed cancer from Agent Orange, he only lived a few months after that. Bill couldn't do much to help him at that point but streamlined all the paperwork and processes for his soon to be widow. Bill is my hero, and I suspect most of the others feel the same way.

i remember many years ago on wild world of sports they use to have something simular.
They had the highly modified fire trucks and drag to a spot and the ladder would go out and this guy would climb before the ladder was even set. Wicked cool. These guys have a skill set no one can imagine.

I think you're talking about the NY State Fireman games. I remember those. They were cool. I saw a couple in person. I don't think they do them anymore because of safety concerns. Not sure. The Scott Firefighter Combat Challenge has been going on for several years now. Both of my sons compete. My older son is on the Virginia Beach Fire Dept. team. Lot's of working out and training. I'd be spent by the time I got to the top of the tower.

Yea well the 60 thread is way cool. We have a porch and tv's and coolers full of great refreshments.
If you want to be invited I suggest you mind your p's and q's... I'm not 60 myself and I was allowed to join. We are watching you... :bored::wave:

Damn I like that too! Watching it I can think back to a reason for each and every challenge they went through, although I would be dragging ass now after that and my time would be embarrassing :(

I never did understand that Navy stands for Never Again Volunteer Yourself and I wore many hats over the years, quite literally. Figured it never hurts to learn new things. The one I am most proud of is this one.

Eventually got to wear this one every 6 days.

I just caught the Scott Firefighter part. Is that named from the same company that makes the Scott air packs? We only got to wear them on flightdeck fires, below decks we had Oxygen Breathing Apparatus OBA's. A primitive Apparatus it was too LOL.

Don't have to stop there the seats come out too and a nice cushy bench pad fits in there! Kind of cramped for back seat activities though :)

    Hiya Susan.

I'll never understand why they changed the AC rear seat design with that stupid center console BS. :der:

Another on the list of reasons I decided to just keep my '07 for as long as I can. ;)

Yes, Scott is the primary sponsor of the challenge. It was originated by a doctor who pushes firefighter physical fitness.

One of the first mods I did to my '12 AC was a dog platform. My weiner dog Heidi approves.
